Laurel, notice it has DTC codes in it also. Both new codes and history for old codes so if you have a problem you can look the codes up and know what the problem is. I found a list of Ford DTC codes on the internet a year or so ago by just doing a search for them.

Here's a link to Ford OBDII trouble codes.

Yes I did and I I think I pushed down arrow and saw MyView.

Press the ok on the left and hold down then press start and hold the ok down until you see ET in the top left of the left screen than you can scroll down with the arrow key. Hope this works for you.

What I noticed is that if you have the parking brake on, the test mode screen will be hidden behind the parking brake message. You can see a couple of letters like "TE" of the test mode screen when it pops up in the upper left.   You need to release the OK button when you see the letters.  Otherwise, if you continue to hold the OK button the test mode screen will be removed.  Or release the parking brake before pushing the start button.

OOPS cgul beat me to it.  Is there any way to delete a post.  It's not evident, if there is a way.

Looks like one of the most helpful things is it gives exact voltage of the 12v system.  May help diagnose some of those problems?

Historical DTC are diagnostic trouble codes that have cleared on their own. So the codes are not currently active.

DTE is distance until empty.

Interesting, my C-Max Energi came off the train in December of 2012 but the MAN DATE value is 120100. Are we sure this is a manufacture date?

I have no idea what MAN DATE means Sean, I assume nothing to do with Build Date'.  Nick

What happens if you hold down the right OK button when starting the car?

Here's a pic of the last Ford tester that held the right button down ;)

To answer your question though, I tried it and it does nothing... I was really hoping for another set of cool stuff to come up :)

Great photo!  Maybe you didn't hold the right button down long enough for ignition and blast off.

Thanks, will go try it.

Edit: Good data.  I didn't drive the car but I assume the display remains there while driving.  For those that want to know coolant temperature, It's there, battery voltage, several FE numbers, rpm and so forth.

It's too bad the test screen doesn't come up on the right display so you can use the left display while driving.

True coolant temperature is vital for diagnosing the health of the thermostat and cooling system.  Most cars today, even with "temperature gauges" display false readings generated by the car computer - anything close to normal and the needle pegs itself in the middle.  Is the thermostat not closing fully, causing a slower than normal warm up?  That is the usual failure mode for the part.  Can't wait for delivery so I can "try" this stuff.

RAFE is Recent Avg Fuel Economy

I'm not sure how long "recent" is, but it seems to be many hours of operation. A 2+ hr non-stop drive is not enough to make the RAFE read the same as what that trip was. But a full tank of gas is longer than what the RAFE reads as the RAFE doesn't match your tank FE when empty.

I have all of this information available all the time with my Scangauge. That is another digital readout I watch occasionally. I have it showing coolant temp and horsepower output and a couple other bits that the car does not show me while driving.

I use the Nav in the right window instead of the leaves, it is the compass when not having the Nav in operation. It gives the time, distance, turns etc.

Here's a link to Ford OBDII trouble codes.

http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/ford/

Couldn't wait to try this when I got Slug back from the dealer today.  The codes that showed in the Engineering Test Mode are not the typical OBDII codes.  I've had no luck searching for them on google either.  Here is a sampling of the DTC codes in history, eleven codes in all:

C14600

C1582

C42481

C45A82

Any ideas?
