Michigan Max Posted May 27, 2013 Report Share Posted May 27, 2013 (edited) After only 7 months of ownership, most of those being winter, I knew I was gonna have to clay bar my Max. The rear hatch was the worst part with these spots everywhere:Took me almost 2 hours on the hatch alone to get rid of the spots.Almost 4 hours total to wash, clay bar and wax. fotomoto Posted May 29, 2013 Report Share Posted May 29, 2013 (edited) Sounds like fun! It's not. Lots of elbow grease required but the sooner and more often one does it the easier it is. Cars with years of neglect will take hours so it's best to stay ahead of the game like Michigan Max is doing. I did my ruby red in preparation for applying paint protection in the opti-coat thread http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/1295-opti-coat-any-one-try-yet/ and it was pretty easy as the paint was in still in great shape being only 5 weeks old but it was still amazing how much the clay picked up even after a really, really good hand wash.
