According to the online manual for the 2013 ford esape you can, but the instructions are confusing for how to do so. I would imagine the C-max to be the same as the escape in this regard. In fact, ford requires it to be shut off before going through an automatic car wash. The manual mentions it. I took a closer look at the stalk positions. Moving up from the lowest position, there is an instant position that provides a swipe or two when you push the stalk all the way down.
