Roof Rack for C-MAx

Recommended Posts

post-1110-0-92652700-1380307912_thumb.jpgThis is the C-Max with a Thule Bike Rack.  I bought the Aero Bar Kit and the bike rack is just one of the racks one can attach there's also a rack for Kayaks and a cargo box etc.  The mileage is down by about 3 mpg but that's at speeds below 65 mph.  One thing though is I need a small ladder to be able to put the bike up there and take it down.  Nothing big just one with two steps.  Installing the rack is pretty straight forward just watch the video on the Thule site for the Aero Bars.  The Sportrack was very inexpensive comparatively speaking and quite easy to assemble just be sure to fit your bicycle to it on the ground and adjust as necessary.

ChrisMax: Thanks for the photo. My wife and I are looking at buying a Cmax, but we have a large Yakima cargo box for our Escape that we're hoping we can fit on the Cmax. Can you measure the distance from the center of your front crossbar to the hatch seam of your vehicle? Yakima says we need 57" clearance to fit the box we have.

Yakima's website says that they don't have a rack for the Cmax, so we're thinking if we get the Thule rack we can fit the box on it (I believe the Yakima Skybox clamps work on the Thule rack).

Thanks again for the photo, and hope you can measure the distance I need (and if it's less than 57", do it look like you could slide it forward any more?).

Greeting and Welcome

ChrisMax last visited the forum on Nov. 5, probably doesn't visit often.

Maybe another member will be able to take your measurement.

I don't know if a moderator will forward a message from you but it can't hurt to ask.

PM (same tool bar your user ID is on)  Jus-A-CMax or Adair and ask if they will forward your request to ChrisMax.
