TSB 13-8-11  INTERMITTENT INOPERABLE FRONT CONTROLS INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) BUTTONS WITH MYFORD TOUCH LESS SONY BRANDED FCIM 

 

FORD:
2013 C-MAX, Escape

 

ISSUE:

Some 2013 Escape and C-Max vehicles equipped with MyFord Touch less Sony brand may have intermittent inoperable FCIM buttons.

ACTION:

Follow the Service Procedure Steps to correct the condition.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

 

  1. Does the vehicle have a Sony branded FCIM?
    1. Yes - this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual section 415-00 and perform normal diagnostics.
    2. No - proceed to Step 2.
  2. Did the customer state the concern was intermittent, the steering wheel controls and touch screen continue to operate the radio, and/or the FCIM functionality recovers with a key cycle?
    1. Yes - proceed to Step 3.
    2. No - this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual section 415-00 and perform normal diagnostics.
  3. Is Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U0256:00 present?
    1. Yes - proceed to Step 4.
    2. No - this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual section 415-00 and perform normal diagnostics.
  4. Reprogram the FCIM using IDS version 86.02 or higher to correct the condition.

Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage
IMPORTANT: Warranty/ESP coverage limits/policies/prior approvals are not altered by a TSB. Warranty/ESP coverage limits are determined by the identified causal part and verified using the OASIS part coverage tool.
