Holy smokes........."Front Fender to Cowl Deflector".  Finally found them.  $70 isn't going to break the bank if it turns out they are superfluous.

Trouble is, both left and right parts seem to have the same part number 16B074.  I'm just going to order them through my local Ford.  Aluminum pop rivets or those autozone plastic things should work nicely.

Adrian_L front fender to cowl deflector?  The cowl at least in my mind is located at the base of the front windshield, like where the wiper blades are stored when not in use.  I was referring the the rear window air deflectors on either side of the rear glass.  That is what I was saying I want and I believe Paul does too?

I could put a spoiler across the two air dams. I'm going to work on that now. :)

Paul

Paul, I was thinking of that very same approach located between the two air dams.  That way the dam across the front would be inline and hanging down no lower than the two air dams.  So if anything will hit a curb or parking stop or steep driveway entrance the whole thing would hit as well.  LMK if you see any improvement with them, I might have to order a pair.

Not sure Mike.  Thought we we're talking about the front wheel dams.  On the Ford website the official part name is "front fender to cowl deflector" and the part number is the same 16B074.  Thanks Paul for the full part number. DM5Z-16B074-A (& ...75-A)

Okay, just want to make certain I'm following (correctly) what we now know: we have part numbers for the front deflectors, courtesy of Paul. Do we have part numbers for the rear deflectors? And so far, still no word on the 'deflectors' that are on the sides of the rear hatch glass. Is this correct?

Yes :)  Today I drove to Smyrna and back today, about 45mi. and got 59.9mpg up and 53.3mpg back with the addition of front tire dams, spoiler between the two and partial rear wheel well covers. I used I-85 and I-285 with speed from 55-85mph a fair amount of drafting going up and not so much going back. Didn't use A/C, but did have front windows open about 3" with temps in the high 80's :shift: :happy feet:

Paul what is meant by partial rear wheel well covers?  I don't follow you on that statement.  BTW very impressive numbers both directions.  I'd be happy if I could just stay in the 40's right now.  Today I slipped down to 41.2 all the way from 44.0 about a month ago.

Ok Paul your trip and numbers inspired me.  I went on fordparts.com and ordered the front tire air dams.  I just hope I'm getting a matched pair since there is only one part number listed and the diagram shows the same for both RH and LH.  I paid the $35.63 x 2.  Hopefully when they arrive at Frontier Ford Parts I can get them discounted with my dealer Salesman discount which was extended to me by my salesperson.  Did I understand that you mounted yours using some plastic clips from autozone?

You have got it, easy.

They go straight across from the mud flap top so there is about an half inch tire clearance. :)  I will Post Pics soon.

Random thought: is it possible that the rear tire deflectors are the same part numbers as the front tire deflectors? I haven't seen a 2014 in person, for those of you that have, could this be the solution?

No and I just talk to my parts man and they still can't find them. :)

Come to think of it when I saw a 2014 the front and rear tire air dams did look the same.  This would make sense why we can't find the rears P/N.  I'm going to stop by my dealer soon and take a closer look at a 2014.

In the toolbar above, under the happy face is the "Image" icon. Select it and paste the URL of the photo (says the guy who's never done that).

For the rest of us, "My Media" next to the happy face, is the portal to all gallery images and prior attachments. Neat add to the site! Also note a 1MB limit for individual images, with no limit on the total... was a 1.5MB limit on the total - yipee!

Have fun,

Frank

So they are different?  I wonder why they aren't listed on fordparts.com?  Or the rear window deflectors as well?  If we can find them I'll buy them for sure.  Hoping my front air dams will arrive soon to Frontier Ford.

Did they use the 74-A and 75-A? I thought FordParts had both numbers.but I just checked and they don't have 75-A listed now. I put in 75-A and it came back with 74-A, but I have the bags they came in with the part #'s. There is something wrong with their info. :)

Got my front Air Dams Thursday, just need to find some mounting clips for it to the undercarriage.  Then I'll look into creating  an air dam to go across the width of the front end like Paul did.

I finally installed my front Ford 2014 CMAX air dams with two plastic rivets each from AutoZone, easy to do into cover in front of wheels. Will post picture when I can. :)

Paul

Were you able to take any photos of how you installed these by any chance?

Ordered mine today from fdmotorparts for $25 a piece plus $13 shipping. They're a bit of a pain to find parts online through them, but with the part #'s you posted, I found them.

It was a bit of a chore, but was able to add an oem backup camera through those guys for less than $150 - primed handle, Ford badge, camera, harnesses, camera bracket. Bit more than a cheap one off eBay but looks legit :)

Tire Air dam1

I'm not sure what happened but here it is along with the spoiler I made between them. The glass tape was for added security but I ripped it off(it didn't stick anyways), the Velcro did a great job of holding the spoiler in place. :)

Cheers! I got mine this morning and didn't see your post until just now (have a habit of forgetting to follow posts).

Before I saw your pics though I had a look outside to figure out how they go, and am not sure but it looks like you might have yours on the wrong sides. Have attached a few photos - first is how you have them looking front end on at the car, then how I thought they go (the one marked RH on the deflector is on the left or right hand side of the car). The last pic is the RH deflector infront of the passenger wheel where I think it goes.
Looks like the flat edge with the two holes go at the back and they line up with the bolts holding that tray to the car. The curved edge of that same side lines up with the deflectors already on the car. The 3 prongs and that hole that sticks out from our deflectors on the curved edge I can probably get in the tray with a dremel.
Anyway maybe I'm wrong but let me know what you think. Thanks again!

It's been awhile but now looking at the photos I think you are right. I think I installed them where they looked right from an aerodynamic stand point and it was very easy to drill a couple of holes to install them. I cut off the prongs, they are only in the way. :)
