Does it ever get fixed?

Recommended Posts

One thing is clear to me -- he DID get a lemon (because few if any other C-Max owners have been through what he's been through).

I've seen that with other car makes and if it happened to me I wouldn't recommend that particular make of car either, regardless of the fact it's a statistical anomaly.  But that's why the lemon laws have been enacted, because it's a very real phenomena (and, if you stop and think about it, in some way an oddly reassuring indication that cars are still made by people.  Flawed, unreliable, inconsistent people to be sure, but at least not ALL of the incredibly complicated process of car assembly has been automated).  A Monday or Friday car to be sure.

I'm leaning towards thinking it is a harness short somewhere in interior. Hopefully TSB 14-0155 does the trick for me.  It's a good thing we have this forum or I would have had no clue about it.

If you are serious about solving your 12v problem, add the additional 12v like I have pictured in my thread"Possible solution for Dead 12v Battery". I believe the additional half again battery capacity will solve the problem, the factory battery is to small to have any significant draw on it. Please send pics of the installation so other members can do the same install. You will be doing a great service to others having the same problem. IMHO :)

...The CSM assigned to me doesn't respond...

Don't hesitate to contact me if you're having difficulty getting in touch with someone, Max Power. Send me a PM with a confirmation of your best daytime phone number and your current mileage; I'll be happy to arrange for a follow-up call from your CSM.

I've been through the whole deal of 3 dead batteries.  Trips to the dealer and each time they say they hope it's fixed, but with no guarantees.  Ford rep said there are no guarnatees.  She took weeks and weeks to get the info she needed for a buyback and then I decided to go to the BBB.  They try to drag things on as long as they can.  Now I'm in with the BBB autoline.  Arbitration next step and I have to have the car in downtown Chicago!!!  What!!  I don't trust my car to drive out of town, much less downtown Chicago.  Are they kidding?  Ford really doesn't care what happens to you.  Love my car, but they try to wear you down so you'll trade it in.  I would lose $9,000 to trade it in because the value of the car has dropped so bad because of dead batteries.  I've been told by an attorney that the Lemon Law is useless in IL.  Ford reps, etc, work for Ford.  They are not on your side. Very frustrated tonight.

You sound like you don't have a jumper battery or you wouldn't have to worry about a dead battery. It seems like most people have dead batteries at night anyway. :)
