Remove Rear Seat

I want to try and remove the driver side rear seat on my 2013 hybrid sel.  A quick look didn't reveal an easy / obvious way of doing this.  Anyone have any tips or know where I can get an affordable shop manual that might help?  Googling hasn't turned up anything for me, but I will continue to search......

try this PDF....hope it helps...

Marc - That would be a huge help, except for one thing.  The seat no longer folds down, which (from looking at the pdf) appears to be important if you want to be able to remove the seat.  Ford is going to replace the seat someday.  Hopefully in my lifetime, but who knows.  I've been waiting 6 weeks and the latest estimate is at least another month.  So I was hoping I could take the seat out and rig up something to allow me to fold the seat when needed.

Well, now all I have to do is figure out how to get the seat folded.  Once I have that worked out the pdf you linked should get me the rest of the way there.

Thanks!!  Off to google to try to find the trick to folding a c-max rear seat where the latch no longer does anything.......

so we finally got a sunny day and my wife wasn't taking the c-max anywhere.  Just as I'm heading out with my tools I get a call from the dealer saying the status on my new seat has changed to "shipped".  They are not sure what that means, but they think it sounds good.  I think so too.  I guess I'll just wait and see what happens next week and not mess with trying to take the seat out.

I was kind of looking forward to it.  Oh well.  I'm ready if I ever need to do it.

Ed I wish you better luck with getting an email that says "Your order has been shipped"

I purchased a new professional video camera for my video business (i.e. Canon XA20) They told me it was shipped on the 3rd of September, I'm still waiting.  Now they say it will arrive next Tuesday...fingers crossed.  Good luck to you with your project.

Wow!  I sure hope Ford is better. I'm pretty sure they are.

I used to order camera equipment out of NYC.  They always sent shipping notices right away so they could collect payment in advance of actually shipping.  Who knows, maybe they didn't have any inventory and used my money to buy whatever they eventually shipped.   It seemed to always be one to two weeks before anything actually shipped (in the sense I use the word which to me means "in the shippers possession and on it's way to me").  Their prices were good, so I just considered it a cost of doing business out of NYC.  Eventually I got fed up with them and switched to other vendors..

Hope you get your camera!

That removal works if the seat can fold down- what if I can't fold the seat down?  I suspect the seat end of the cable is detached (the lever end works) but I can't get to it without removing the seat, can't remove the seat without folding it down ...  catch 22....

Any ideas?

Found a way to manually fold the seat-

Since my cable was still attached to the seat release I was able to remove the lever, remove the plastic cover behind the seat, pull the cable from under the seat and then pulled the cable aft to release the seat release.  Ta Da, seat folded so I can remove it and fix the cable attach point.....
