New C max Energi possible problem

Hi All

I just purchased a 2014 C max Energi and just got 400 miles on it. The problem is once in awhile a the wrench symbol comes on just driving normal but goes off after restart and might stay off a couple of days but then comes back on. I do not notice any different in proformance

I would suggest finding out if there is a code associated with it.  An auto parts store will read them for free but may not see manufacturer specific codes.

The wrench symbol came on regularly when ours was new. The issue was the seal on the cap-less fuel fill port. The fix was to use the little funnel in the trunk to open and close the port, allowing it to seal. Haven't seen that wrench in over a year.

 

As to engine codes, you don't need to go anywhere, you just need to start the car in "engineeeirng mode." Record the codes and take them with you to the dealer, if you think there's a real problem.

 

Engineering Test Mode

When starting hold the ok button on the left of the steering wheel and start the car. In the left panel you will have the test mode which you can scroll with the up and down arrow keys
