MPG to Temp

And what about temp. of transmission oil??

Might be an issue if you were driving for an hour at 70mph on a 90*F day.  I won't worry about it if you were going slow and cooler day and less time.  Otherwise I would remove bottom cover.  Wait a minute, you don't have shutters so you could leave Grill Covers on all the time, never take them off. Cool! :happy feet:  :)

TEST 1 (hot like. :sunny:  :nonono: ..):

Outside temp - 95F in the shadow (in the car on full sun - 150F :swear: )

AC - 71F

Road  - 100miles

Air intake temp (ELM with Forscan) - 122F - 158F

Passanger: 5 + load

kW usage of climate - 2,5/5

MPG - 36.5

Test 2

Outside temp - 68-75F in the shadow

AC - 72F

Road  - 100miles (this same road)

Air intake temp (ELM with Forscan) - Did not check

Passanger:4+ load.

kW usage of climate - 0,5/5

MPG - 45,2

Other:

EV+ in hot and short trip - it is crazy - I turned it off. The battery can not to be charge more than 1/2.

One thing I'm noticing in the heat here (currently around/above 100 daily), my hybrid battery seems to be losing some charge while parked for a day. I've only really noticed it twice because the ICE started when I pressed the start button (SEL), the battery indicator only showed 1/10, or maybe less, of a charge. I can't say for sure but I'm pretty sure, when I had parked, that the battery was sitting above 25% and likely in the 30-40% range.

Just wondering if anyone else has observed this in extreme hot or cold or if this may indicate a possible issue with the battery? I will say, other than the low state of charge hurting my fuel economy for the first couple of miles (since it is charging the battery the whole time), it hasn't really seemed to effect my fuel economy.

There are a few factors at play here.

  1. The car can only estimate the charge level based on measuring the HVB voltage. When driving the HVB is charged & discharged. This leads to more inaccuracy since the car has to estimate how much charging & discharging happened. When the car is off & the HVB rests the BECM can more accurately estimate the SOC
  2. The HVB temperate may have increased or decreased while parked. Changes in HVB temp result in changes in capacity & thus SOC
