When we bought the Focus, the CMax had just come out and I don't generally buy a year 1 (to North America) model. Always was intrigued by the CMax though and finally had the opportunity and the will to switch. For me, the Focus is a bit small and 3 years on, it's starting to rattle. Had the handling pkg and with the 18" tires, was a really rough ride with a lousy turning circle. We don't have 16 CMaxs in Canada yet so we bought a '15 SEL with the 303A pkg in write platinum. Our Lexus is also the same colour, but we didn't have much choice with the CMax. The 16's don't arrive for several months. I really had no issues with the latest incarnation of Sync in the Focus, so it's fine for us. We pick up Monday. Question; build date was January 15. Has the GPS map database changed since then? Kelleytoons Posted October 3, 2015 Report Share Posted October 3, 2015 (edited) There is a later map database -- um, I *think* it's A6 but I'm very old and don't remember (the way it went, I THINK, was that when we bought our vehicle last July it came with A4, which I upgraded to A5 from eBay for less than $40 in December, but that A6 has now officially been released a month or two ago). However, I wouldn't have the dealer sell you A6 -- if they toss it in for free that's one thing (but they usually won't). You can definitely eBay an original (like I and others here have done) for around $40, which is FAR below what the dealerships will charge. As mentioned, several sellers on eBay offer them for as low as $25, though new, unopened seem to start about $40. The A6 includes maps for the US and Canada. Although it won't work for the OP, you can also buy the B6 maps which has the same US maps but, instead of Canada, it includes the maps for Mexico and Central America.
