I am impressed

I joined this forum a couple of years ago when I was seriously considering the purchase of a C-Max Hybrid. I ultimately went with an Escape SE with the 1.6L, and I've been very happy with it. Fast forward to now and I find myself in the Dallas area with a one-week C-Max rental from Budget. I'd like to say to all that the vehicle newly impresses me in just about every way, and also say that I'm getting crazy good gas mileage driving around town with this thing. The car has 16k on it, temps here are mild for winter (in the low 70s), and I'm getting right around 49mpg in mixed city driving, with no special effort on my part.

We try to spread the word.  Some potential buyers go with more conservative purchases because of the fear of hybrids or fear of batteries or whatever.  Others get scared off because of the 12 volt battery problem--which seems to mainly affect SE models.    In my opinion, the SEL model is a nearly flawless blend of luxury and economy.

Yes, the C-Max is still the best kept secret in cardom.  Yes, the C-Max remains an extraordinary car for the feature set, comfort & performance it represents.  And yes, many would be buyers are freaked out just visiting this site and being put off by all the technobabble here on 'how to drive' a C-Max. ((Good technobabble; but just a bit freaky & off-putting to many))

Just a little cautious driving in fair weather will return you 45-50++++ MPG.  Brace for the winter blues & cruise to 50's outside of that.

Good note maxed-out,

Nick
