scottwood2 Posted April 4, 2016 Report Share Posted April 4, 2016 Well, the pre-sales of the Tesla Model 3 is pretty incredible. I like the exterior of the car but the dash board, or lack of a dash board is really different. For me not in a good way. When I first saw this I thought it was a prototype and just not ready for production. I don't see having everything on a touch screen as a good thing. I like physical knobs that I can grab while driving and not have to look at a display. Some say it because the car will be doing the driving on it own. I guess we will see. Enough now reserved that, from what I hear, the $7500 tax break is over for any additional buyers (as well as many Model 3s already reserved).I agree about the knobs - I do like touch screens in general but not in a car for common functions. I guess we are supposed to be using voice commands but I've never had much luck with them so I gave up. However, it wouldn't stop me from getting one (the price might!) - the real reason for a Tesla is access to the Superchargers. For me, Tesla has solved the range issue right there. I can live with a 20 minute break every 2 hours - you should take one anyway. And going all over the country without spending another dime would be awesome. The Bolt looks nice and I can't wait to see what Ford comes out with next but they will have to come up with the equivalent charging world or I won't be that interested. jdbob Posted April 5, 2016 Report Share Posted April 5, 2016 I've read that Elon has tweeted that the steering wheel (which had no buttons on it) is not what be in the final product. Marc Smith Posted April 6, 2016 Report Share Posted April 6, 2016 i like knobs as well, but I have become really fond of the steering wheel controls. I did the temp setting and recirc buttons on my prius I only use voice to activite BT stereo or tune to a radio station... the voice interface is just to cumbersome(slow) to do much more. the time it takes to adjust the ac/defrost, heater, fanspeed, ect..
