accident

I was involved in an accident yesterday.  Someone blew through a redlight and hit my passenger side front quarter panel.  The damage is extensive in the front (quarterpanel, hood, front bumper assembly completely taken off, possible axle/tire damage)  My concern is the energi battery and any possible damage that may have resulted.
Has anyone here been in an accident and had issues with the battery at a later point?

Your car may be totaled given what you describe as the value of your 2013 is likely around 40% of MSRP.    Figure $14 k average.

If it were my car I'd want it to be totaled.  There can be a lot of hidden problems after such an accident. Your car may never be the same as it was before the accident.  I'd push the insurer to total it with stuff like the hybrid components including the HVB and electronics may also be damaged and I may not know this for years later.

There is a person on the Energi forum who bought a totaled 2014 Energi, repaired it, and is driving it. That one was hit in the right rear and totaled by the insurance company. An impact to the front right should not affect the hybrid systems. But I agree, due to the residual values, it may end up being totaled.

Wow, sorry to hear your news.  Are you OK?  A car can always be replaced.

The cost to do these repairs can climb quite quickly.  I would rather see it totaled if it were my car.   My previous car was in a somewhat costly repair due to an accident.   I drove it for many years after the repair and it was fine.   If you get the right repair shop it can be OK.  Only time will tell.  Good luck.

i would be interested in seeing a pic and the estimated cost of repair if you have that but I am sure you have more on your mind than worrying about that.  Glad you are OK.

Just a note, you have the right to choose the repair shop. Don't accept whatever they want you to use until you check it out. Good luck!
