Lost antenna

I seem to have lost the antenna off the back of my C-Max. The bottom portion doesn't seem to be damaged, just that I'm missing the short antenna that sticks up out of it. I haven't looked real closely but, at first glance, it appears that the antenna wire screws into the bottom portion. Of course, there is a wire wrapped around that antenna, so I'm curious if anyone knows if that wire needs to be connected somewhere?

Does anyone know exactly how hard that wire is to replace? If nothing is otherwise damaged, can the antenna just be screwed back into the hole or is there something more detailed -- particularly am I seeing wrong and it doesn't screw. And is there a wire that needs to be connected, or is it "connected" merely by the antenna being put back in?

Had my AM/FM antenna(rear roof area) stolen overnight on the road.  Someone noticed, liked the antenna topper ball.  I didn't notice loss until listening to AM, where normal stations could not be heard.  It's a screw on, screw off piece.  Thief thoughtfully screwed mine off, didn't break it off.  Bought a Dorman replacement 76866 for under $15, plus shipping, handling on internet.  Ford part 18813, not available last week on parts.ford.com.  Standard  10" on multiple Ford models of multiple years.  Other lengths/customized styles available on some websites.  So far, reception seems fine.

That is same replacement antenna and I have had no issues with it, since replacing mine almost 2 years ago.
