art4tees Posted August 13, 2017 Report Share Posted August 13, 2017 Just picked up a 2014 C-Max Hybrid today and of course I cant charge my phone in the car as neither of the 12V sockets work, so I figure it is a fuse issue. Trouble is, I cant find the fuse in all the fuse box diagrams. They do not call them what I would think, so I need some help in locating them. Bill-N Posted August 14, 2017 Report Share Posted August 14, 2017 Just to be clear, the front outlets only work when the car is on; they are turned off a few minutes after the car is turned off (like the radio). Its easy to drop something metallic into the outlet that is inside the storage compartment between the seats. Bye-buy fuse! obob Posted January 20, 2018 Report Share Posted January 20, 2018 I was looking for the fuse for the 12 volt outlet that is in the back. I did not see it in the manual. Any ideas ? My reason is that I have what I thought was a great fast air pump but it blew the fuse in the front. I later read a review that it can draw 30 amps on start up and then draw .7 amps if the pressure in the tire is 40+ lbs to start out. I was curious if the outlet in the back is the same 20 Amps. Now I am curious if there even is a fuse. I may not be able to return it because I already threw out the box and cut the power cord to use inside my house. I am thinking it might be in the manual but it is not called "power point." like the one in the front. Thanks. SnowStorm Posted January 20, 2018 Report Share Posted January 20, 2018 Don't know about the fuse either but why not connect it to the power posts under the hood - plenty of current there. You've already cut the cord so attach some big clamps (maybe from a dead jump starter or 12V inverter) and a fuse and it should go. Just keep an eye on the pump so it doesn't go up in smoke! Funny that the pump should fail - it says it is "Built to Last". They just didn't say how long! kcpants Posted March 18, 2022 Report Share Posted March 18, 2022 Just an FYI. I had this same problem where my cup holder 12v had no power, but the console did. I extracted the cup holder socket, and found that it was not connected to the plug. I was able to pull the plug up through the hole where the socket was, and re-seat the socket into the plug.
