Hi everyone,

I have a 2013 C-Max with about 40,000 miles. For several months the plastic dashboard panel under the touchscreen that surrounds the audio system controls has rattled quite a bit, especially over rough pavement or when the engine comes on. If I press on it with my hand, it stops, but I can't always hold it down while driving :).

Any suggestions for how to fix this?

Ben

I don't have an SEL so I am not sure of your exact panel but there is a lot of stuff on the internet.

I would try to simulate your holding the panel with some kind of padding, perhaps with a good tape though one link suggests self adhesive foam strips.  I have gaffers tape which I really like.  Maybe stuffed in a crack.

Taking apart the panel seems too big a deal for me.

I have noticed that some of my rattles with previous cars change with temperature.
