I realized that my keys were still in my pants and the washer was full of water, panic sat in, but they came through it unscathed. I was pleasantly surprised. obob Posted February 16, 2018 Report Share Posted February 16, 2018 My experience with liquids getting into electrical stuff has been good. Often unplugging them or taking the battery out and drying them out with a hair dryer or fan has worked for me. That includes someone spilling their coffee into a crt monitor. stratosurfer Posted January 20, 2019 Report Share Posted January 20, 2019 At my son’s birthday party over a year ago I got in the community pool with the kids and had the fob in my surf trunks. As we were cleaning up later to leave the lifeguard asked me it the keys and fob were mine... I have used Corrosion X to waterproof electronics and even dry them out for years. I got home (wife had driven her car) and took out the battery, and blow dried the IC board with compressed air and then applied Corrosion X to the board and battery holder. Next day I wiped of the original coat of Corrosion X and reapplied, and as well to the new button battery and all is well: fob works as before. I haven’t had it re-immersed so I don’t know if it’s water-resistant, but I’m hoping it is. There are many videos on YouTube showing drones being dissembled and coating all electronics with Corrosion X and then later the drone ‘flying’ in a large fish tank underwater.
