Plastic Under Carriage Shield Torn

In my 2014 SEL, I recently pulled up too far to one of those concrete stops in the front of parking places and almost completely tore off a boxlike thing attached to the larger undercarriage cover. It had two screws originally but only one is left. It hangs down so that it drags on the street. I taped it up for now, but would like to get a new one or take it off. It's right in front of the right front tire, just under the car. Does anyone know what that part is called? Should I just go to auto zone and ask them? It seems like even I could re-attach it if I had one that wasn't torn up. Can I just take it off? What does it do?

Thanks for any suggestions.
