I agree. Since they announced this update, I have been trying to find out if it was going to be included on our car built on 7/19. I asked on the C Max facebook page. Alan from Ford said yes, as of that day it was being done in factory. Well, that's all well and good...BUT....In a private conversation with Eric from Ford, he says he is unsure if it will make it in on my build. He advised me to ask the dealer. On Friday I asked the dealer. The dealer had no clue what I was talking about. Said he never heard of such an update. Even though it had been in the news for 2 or 3 days prior. He said he would check on it, and I still have not gotten an answer. Also on Friday I sent FordService twitter the same question. They advised me to ask my dealer. After telling them 3 times that my dealer had no idea what it even was, they are unable to confirm or negate what Alan has said. I have no idea if it will have it or not, and neither does anybody I can get a hold of at Ford. Seems disorganized to me.

I had heard of it, never worried about it because we have always paid under sticker. When we got our Escape we got it for $28,000, sticker was almost 35k. But it is an 08, and we got it in July of 09. It only had 100 miles on it :) . I just searched and found a Mustang forum. I found a code that let me check the X-plan price. I built out our car. Black SEL, with 303A, pano roof, remote start, exterior protection. Our sticker is $33,875. X plan comes in at $31,150. I planned on trying to get it for around 30k, not paying over 32k. We have not agreed on a price with the dealer, but I am confident I will get a good enough deal. It has been built. I don't know where it is at the moment. But I can't wait till it gets here and I am growing a garden of my own. :)

I really don't mean to, but it just comes out like that sometimes. That is why I prefer email communication with my dealer. I have been getting better at using the honey though. Your tone seemed just fine. I would not be so kind, I fear.

I have never used clay bar on a car. I would probably screw it up. ;) Besides I don't work well outside when it's above 95 degrees. I have done windows on our old Chevy van, but I in no way think I could do this myself. I have asked the dealer if they could do(have it done), but haven't got a definitive answer yet. I have seen and experienced that type of road repair. It has been responsible for more than one crack in a windshield. I think I am going to get it on the C Max. I asked the dealer to get me the window vent visors, bug shield, tint the windows, and the 3m clear bra. I know it will add to the cost of the vehicle. It will also most likely make me have to wait another day or two. If they don't want to do it, I will go to a shop(once I find the best one I can). I had one of those "leather" bras on a car at one time. It did trap a lot of stuff underneath it. I just don't know if the clear ones do the same. My research has some saying yes it does, some say no it don't. They all tend to agree that who applies it is critical.

1st Question..... Does anybody here have any experience with the 3m clear bra? I have never had it on a car. I have however, had rock chips and etc on the hood and grill of every car. I am thinking of getting it on our C Max. Question 2... Does anybody have the Ford OEM bug shield on their C Max? If so, how is the fit and look?(pictures if possible please) Does it "flap" in the wind at freeway speeds? Thanks for any input.

Got this from Eric at Ford on facebook this morning. "Hey Mark, I'm still showing your ETA as TBD. My guess is that it's going to take a little longer than originally planned but I wouldn't rule it out for arriving on the 11th. Keep in touch with me and I'll check on it for you anytime. This isn't the first time I've seen this. -Eric"

I started thinking this last night. I've been saying all along that I would rather have these updates done at the factory.

Seems mine and yours might be at the same spot. Etis shows build date of 7/19. :clapping: :hat_tip: Cyberdman, verified that this morning. :rockon: My dealer sent me a screen shot of his tracking. It shows "produced" and "awaiting shipment" on 7/19 @ Ford Michigan Assembly Plant. On 7/20 it says "in transit" "received-(Voith Industrial svc inc." "ramp 4G MI assembly plnt". On 7/21 it says "Awaiting shipment" "At Plant" "Ford Michigan Assembly Plant". ETA column varies a little, but it generally says 8/5-8/11 in all the entries. Except the last entry at the top. The ETA is TBD :confused: I cannot get any more info at this time. I am happy it has been built, but a bit concerned the ETA has changed to TBD. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.

We ordered 10 days before you. Ours was scheduled to be built 7/18, ETA 8/15. I have been checking the Ford owner site. There it has changed from owner/warranty guides, to the availability to activate sync. On the Ford Etis site there is no change. I am waiting for a response from the dealer to see if it has been built. I just got the required minimum posts to ask Cyberdman, but that just happened on Friday. He doesn't do weekend updates, so I will be asking him Monday.

I figured 3.5.1 would be there, thanks to this forum. But the sad fact is, the dealer doesn't know. :doh: The FE update, Alan at Ford(facebook) said it would be. Eric at Ford(facebook) said he was unsure. My dealer doesn't know...which surprised the hell outta me.... :lol: I was scared when I first took them the Escape hybrid a few years ago. But as long as I coach them, (they know to listen), they have done good service(well except for when they had a towing company flatbed ram our hatch when in for service). I am going to be weary when they touch the Cmax too. And believe it or not, this is the good dealership in this city.

When I look at posts by others, and click the "see all", I can see the stuff about the new upgrade. I see my question about if it will be built into our car. I even see you saying this in response to someone asking about the update. Personally, I hope that this upgrade as well as 3.5.1 are built into our car, been waiting 2 days for dealer to verify if it is. I really would rather avoid having the dealer do it. Our car was supposed to be built yesterday(7/18), but I don't know if it was. :gaah:

Welcome to the forum, lots of friendly folks here. Hate to see that happen, and will now be even more worried about our pano roof(once it arrives). I would avoid one of those that set up in parking lots, if unfamiliar with the company. I use Safelitte auto glass, national warranty. I have had them repair divots, and chips it has always been free to me. But it also has been only on the windshield. I have never had them repair a crack though.

I have not been able to fully verify this yet. Alan from Cmax facebook page is the only one to give me a direct answer either way. I have also been talking with Eric at Ford, who also contacted me through that facebook page. Eric is unable to give me a 100% answer. He told me to contact my dealer. My dealer is "looking into it". I do not have confirmation yet. I sure would like any and all these updates to be done while it's built today, rather than have to wait for dealer to do it. Either way, I am very happy that today is the day it will be built. Excited that we will have it in just a few weeks! :woohoo:

HI. Welcome! We also have a 08 FEH. Our Cmax is being built on 7/18. We can't wait to get it. This is a very friendly forum. I don't know how to do that, but I am sure someone will answer soon. I am curious if you traded in your FEH or kept it. We are keeping ours...for now. I think it's cool to see other satisfied previous Ford hybrid owners, getting the new generation of the system. We have just over 80,000 miles on our FEH and we haven't had a single problem, have not even had to do the brakes.

I have been trying to find all the information I can about this. Our car is to be built tomorrow. From what I have read for current owners, Ford will start sending out letters by the end of the month. You will need to go to dealer for it, and they say expect 1/2 day to do it.

I asked on the C Max facebook page if this would be done to my car being built on 7/18. Alan answered saying yes, as of today it is being done at the factory. I feel lucky. Almost like getting a 2014 model. :rockon: I have been stalking these forums, knowing we will have our car in just a few weeks. Have learned tons. Can't wait to drive it.

LEDs give off less heat and draw less current. So, I am guessing they might make a slight difference in energy usage.The main reason to do it is because they look better(IMO). From the post above, it seems the rear license plate may be a safety upgrade as well.

I would really like to see that. If they could do that, I would probably trade up for it the day it's released.

Yeah, seems kinda strange. I don't know enough about how the inner workings of car dealers really work. I can only imagine the ways, and tricks they have to manipulate numbers. I might answer the survey saying that "I don't have it yet".

Hmmm. Did you put a down payment on it? Have you signed papers(obligating yourself to purchase) ? We have signed nothing, and only put down a deposit of $500. I would be in the same mind set as you if I was to receive a survey at this point.

I talked to Ford service twitter, posted on C-max facebook, looked at the window sticker. Looked at Ford owner site. Looked at etis. That's about all I can do for now, It is still scheduled to be built on 7/18. T-2 days!!. :happy feet: I have watched all the owner videos at least twice. Searched youtube immensely, and have watched hundreds of reviews, drives, demos, and etc. To the point that my wife just sighs, and says "Not again". I could go buy some add-ons, like dear warnings, windshield shade, window vent visors, cleaning supplies, steering wheel cover, and etc. But if I do that then I would probably be even more impatient.
