  1. Yup, sounds like the exact same thing. Sounds like they need to do a bulletin on it or something.
  2. If you go with a roof rack, I'd suggest Thule. I've had Thule, Yakima and a few smaller companies. Yakima always seemed to scratch my paint up and the smaller companies like inno just didnt fit like they should've. Also, have a Thule dealer hall you install it, go to a bike shop or independent ski dealer, not big-box.
  3. After having the hitch for a few weeks I've been able to use it quite a few times (I carry bikes around for work sometimes) it is working great. The only thing is, as mentioned above, you have to be careful to not hit the tailgating open button when bikes are on the car. I was going to do a roof rack too, but decided that was kind of against the spirit of driving a hybrid. I'd definitely suggest the tork lift route, it was a super simple bolt on procedure.
  4. Quick update: The dealer ordered the wrong part and said that the part for my vehicle was on back order. I took the vehicle back because they said it would not affect the drivability of the car. Anyone else waiting on parts?
  5. Just got a call from the dealer and they said that my car had a bad leak detection pump. Not sure if it is a different name for the same part, but I was getting all of the same symptoms (check fuel inlet message). I'll try to report back if I find out whether it was in fact that same part. Hope fully ford is aware of this issue.
  6. So I just got done installing the 1.25" hitch from tork-lift. Was very easy, I had a friend help out, which made things a lot easier. We did support the muffler, but I agree that it's not necessary. It's basically a 6 bolt installation. I wish that I had slightly longer bolts for the center support, it was hard to get that one started. Tork-lift was nice to deal with too. The hitch showed up in 4 days (Washington to Michigan). The instructions came with pictures and were easy to follow. The printing on the instructions was horrible though, so I emailed the company and they sent over an electronic copy. So far I've mounted my bike rack, but haven't driven with it. I'd definitely suggest this rack though. It is a little more than some of the others out there, but the simple bolt-on installation is worth it. Oh, one annoying thing about the rack was the packaging. This thing showed up wrapped in foam and shrink-wrap like crazy. Even with a blade, it was still the hardest part of the job.
  7. Not sure if this is in the right spot or not. Today I got my first oil change (usure if that is related) But I went back home. Went inside, came back out to the garage an hour later and all four windows were rolled down. Any ideas? I know that they weren't rolled down when I got home. It was only about 35 degrees out.
  8. I just ordered my hitch. I'll try to post a summary. I also just noticed that etrailer.com has hidden hitch and draw-tite hitches on their site, but they say that they require drilling for installation, but if you want to save $100, you could go that route.
  9. Oh, maybe it's just not included on the SE. I guess I would have assumed that something like this would be standard in a vehicle that had a navigation screen as well as two in-dash screens.
  10. I went from a 2005 Chevrolet malibu to a 2013 C-Max and I found that it was a little funny that the one thing I can't do in my C-Max, that I could do in my Malibu was open the garage door!!!!
  11. I've been seeing them a ton in the Ann arbor and Detroit area. Which makes sense. What puzzles me a bit is the number of escapes I am seeing. It seems to me like the c-max wasa far better value and the space is similar. I guess they are just that much more available.
  12. I have to agree with this. I am not old, but I really enjoy the seating position in this car. I drive a lot for my job and have found this much more comfy than my Chevy Malibu (that car had a lot of issues). You aren't quite as upright as a true SUV or truck, but aren't laying down like in a car.
  13. Yes, you get two. I will say however, with all of the technology ford put into this vehicle, the keys seem really big and bulky. I would almost rather have a smaller key and separate fob instead of the all-in-one thing.
  14. Sorry, I haven't logged on in a few days, but thanks for all the awesome info. Glad to hear it is working well. I'm placing my order this weekend! I just got a fat-bike and need my rack back to haul it around!
  15. What kind of rack do you have? Did you need any special equipment to install the hitch? I'm thinking I can do this myself, but have never done it. Thanks for the feedback!
  16. Range has been pretty accurate for me (well I think so at least) On a recent trip home, it said that I had 96 miles to empty and the navigation said that I had 92 miles until home. I decided not to stop until I got home. When I got off the highway, I decided to get fill up.
  17. This has been a pain in my side since getting my C-Max. I am better off pushing the home button on my phone and having Siri tell me where to go. Not clean at all. What's worse is that the addresses are in SYNC, it just gives me an error that says that it is in the wrong format. AAARRRGGGH!! You have the info!!! Why can't you use it???? Oh yeah, SYNC is by Microsoft....
  18. Tinting was a must for me since the car didn't come with an auto-adjusting rear-view mirror. I got 15% in the rear. Nothing in the front (Michigan Law) I had a light tint on my previous car in the front windows, but decided to play it safe on the C-Max! Turned out great. Nice added security!
  19. Is anyone else getting lower fuel mileage at say 62 than at 70? What is happening is that when I am going 62, the car is switching between EV and gas. When it switches over to gas, the instantaneous MPG goes down to about 20. Whereas when I am going 70, the gas is getting 40 MPG. The amount of EV driving can't compensate for the low fuel mileage at 62. Also, I have about 5k miles on my C-Max and am getting about 38MPG total. Tiny bit disappointed, but I am in sales and this is awesome compared to what I was getting with my last car.
  20. Did you get the 1 1/4" or the 2" I am trying to decide between the two. My wife's car has a 2" right now, and it would be nice to have the same, but I have a 1 1/4" rack right now. The only thing that worries me about getting a 2" is that the C-Max rides lower to the ground and many 2" racks are not designed for vehicles that ride that close to the ground. Any feedback would be appreciated!!
