does the tpms system and traction control on cmax related? i searched on the net and some toyota will not let you disable transaction control if the tpms is disable (i.e., winter tires with no tpms) so without tpms sensors on my winter tires, 1) will my traction control works? 2) can it be turn on/off? 3) any other affects?

hi, guys, i need help from cmax owners in toronto, canada. i have my cmax for couple months. my cmax has park assist and i have using it almost everyday. it works perfectly. But the "park assist button" has never light up when i push the button and turn on park assist. i have always believe that the park assist button is NOT suppose to light up until i saw a youtube video and saw another cmax that the park assist button will actually light up! see video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WDOBde-Vnc @1:40. You will see the park assist button light up when she pushed it. so i brought my cmax to dealership and ask for help, instead they told me it is NOT suppose to light up and i showed him the youtube video and he said that it is a "special effect"!!! now, i am really confused. Is the light suppose ON or OFF? that's why i need your help from toronto. Please check your park assist button and see if it lights up. if it does, can you take a picture and post it here please? so that i have proof to go back my dealership for the "special effect" of my park assist button. thanks in advance for all your help. PS: does your button next to park assist (which is the park sensor off button) also light up or not?

sorry for my poor knowledge of a hybrid car. I am just a regular driver with no knowledge of how a vehicle works. but just out of my curiosity, i have a couple questions and hope someone can help me figure it out 1) on a non hybrid car, all electric power by the 12v batteries, for example: headlights. so if we turn off the car with headlights on, the 12v batteries will drain down. but on the cmax, headlights are powered by the high voltage batteries, how come it still drain down the 12v batteries? 2) why ford did not setup the cmax that, when the 12v batteries drain down, it can be saved and recharged by the high voltage batteries? thanks for help in advance!

Ford to lower fuel economy rating on C-Max hybrid
666 replied to slampro's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
anyone know: 1) will the payment apply to Canadian owners? 2) do you think the new 2014 cmax updates can be applied to our 2013? according to the articles, these are 2014 updates: Ford said today it also plans several other engineering changes to the 2014 C-Max scheduled to go on sale in December: • Gearing changes to enhance transmission drive ratio • New hood seal, front and rear tire deflectors, A-pillar moldings and the addition of rear lift gate deflectors to improve aerodynamics • New engine oil with reduced friction i myself thinks it will be possible, - cmax has 1 speed ecvt so i believe it is a software update for transmission drive ratio? - New hood and other stuffs are physical add on - a different spec engine oil? -
do cmax, a hybrid car, needs full synthetic engine oil? since the engine is running "part time", especially on cmax energi, they even had "engine oil condition mode" and running electric most of time...... what do you think?

how to consider as a "correct" update? if the update is "incorrect", does it: 1) not kicks in EV at all above 60mph? OR 2) it will still kicks in EV above 60mph BUT having worst Fuel Economy? (i.e.: pre update is 45mpg and post update is 40mpg??)
