  1. I was also bit worried about the headliner. I cannot tell from appearance they did anything. However, the amount of padding up there seems increased. They area seems more substantial than in most cars. Even before this was done this area seemed more solid than all of the other cars I looked at. Didn't plan on buying this car but it seemed more solid than everything I looked at. Only thing close was vw golf tdi.
  2. I thought I would hold off on getting recalls done since many people reported no help on mpg and I was getting 53 mpg already. Anyway I went ahead and did it. Got headliner, fuel update oil changed etc all at once. Still impressed by service at Co springs dealership. I was afraid car would not run as smooth but it runs as good as ever. The only real difference I see as you can go faster in electric mode. I doubt that will make much difference in fuel economy in our driving situation since tend to mainly drive in town. Hopefully advantage will be quicker warmup. Anyway, I guess I had no reason to be afraid of updates. Maybe those that had trouble just had some bad luck or not ready dealers.
  3. Mtb9153, you will get a check. Not sure why you dont think you will. You will, you bought your car a long time ago.
  4. Green Chicago, it sounds like there is something wrong with your car, I would take it to Ford and get it fixed. Regardless, this is just one more example of people doing poorly with so called upgrade. I am unsure even though some seem to like it there are not more positive comments.
  5. Great answers and responses. It all seems to help my mileage.
  6. Live in Colorado Springs and drive a lot of up elevations and down elevations. This seems to actually result in high mpg. Going up mileage seems to be around 40 or so. Down a lot of times 90 plus mpg over 10 miles of driving. Currently at 53.8 and mileage is slowly increasing. Am afraid to get update since car is really good and surpassed my expectations as it is. Anyway, not sure about the hill think. Hypothesis?
  7. Mpg at 53.8 wlth 1690 miles. Mpg is slowly increasing. I live in a hilly area and that actually seems to help the mileage. When gaining elevation mileage is not as good when going down its great. Haven't got the update and am to afraid to since car seems perfect as it is.
  8. Well, I am sure you who read this are tired of my wishy washynous in regards to the update. After reading many post I have decide to wait and see how my car does once it gets cold. It still seems results are at best mixed. I appears those that were not getting good mileage to begin with are doing better. However, those that do a lot of city driving and drive the car paying attention to empower, etc. are doing quite a bit worse. Its too bad, I was hoping this update would help all, but right now that doesnt seem to be the case. My dealer said they have had no trouble doing the updates but said I didn't have to update and could wait a bit. Originally many people reported positive results, but lately all I m seeing is negative results. I will keep reading. Thanks to all who post.
  9. Thanks, i think you guys maybe convinced me. I had just seen quite a few negative post on this forum. I am just very happy with the car now, so that caused me to be a bit hesitant. I do suspect mileage will decrease quite a bit when it gets cold as it is now. Thanks for all of your opinions. Just want to make right decision.
  10. From what I am seeing from the post I think I will wait on the update. The results seemed mixed. People driving more highway seem to be helped others not. I am currently getting 53.5 mpg mainly in town and am afraid to mess up car since its doing well now. I will keep my eye on this forum as I may well change my mind when it gets colder. Hopefully a lot more people will post their results. My guess if there was improvement more people would have posted. I have to say I am surprised how many people have posted negative results. Would appreciate any advice or thoughts from any of you. thanks
  11. Thanks Snowstorm, your numbers look good. I would just like to see more data. Not many people are reporting yet.
  12. I am thinking about holding off due to recent post that I have read. There doesn't seem to be too many post in regards to the update effects, and results for those that have posted seem to appear mixed. I wished there were more reports, so as of nowI may hold off. Thoughts?
  13. The build date was January. Actually once I sort of learned how to drive the car, my wife drives it the most we are around 54 mpg and ofter higher. Notice going up in elevation mpg is often high 30's to 44 or so. Down elevation often over 80 mpg. These are mainly 12-15 mile trips. I am surprised the mileage has been so good. Seems we are able to drive in EV mode more than I would have guessed. Really like the car so far, not just the mileage. It will be interesting how much mileage hit we will take during our cold winters.
  14. Currently getting 53.6 mpg with mainly in town driving. Live in Colorado Springs, lot of hills and driving at around 35 to 60 most of the time. Have only had car since May. I am very happy with the mileage currently. I would expect mileage to drop as it gets colder. Do you all think mileage will be helped then with update. Not too many people have commented on their mileage after update from what I have read. Thanks
