  1. Yes, the center console needs to be removed to replace the RCM. If you have heated seats, make sure the control knobs on the center console illuminate (and the heated seats work) after recall work. I have seen reports of some heated seats not working after RCM recall because the installer neglected to re-connect them. I would also check USB and charging ports in center console to make sure they are still functional.

Yes, check the fuses listed in above post. Also, did you recently have "Recall 14S21 - Restraint Control Module" performed? This recall requires removal of center console to access RCM. I recall someone on this forum mentioning their seat heaters did not work after recall because the tech forgot to re-connect seat heater controls on center console.
  3. Just ran Vehicle Health Report and noticed it no longer displays "Oil Life" (percentage of remaining oil life) as it did in the past. Appreciate feedback from anyone who has recently run a report. Is the "Oil Life" section missing in your health reports? Thanks.
  4. Welcome to the forum. The CMax has a couple of microphones located above the headliner (used for Voice Commands and Noise cancelling). Perhaps it is the microphone that you hear rattling? I recall seeing a diagram on this forum showing their location and that they were held in place by tape under the car roof (can't locate diagram at the moment).
  5. I also have had issues setting the time display on center SE display (especially after dealer reprogramming). I recall reading somewhere in this forum that it sometimes helps to change/set the date first, then the time. (See previous post for instructions on how to set date/time).
  6. My 2013 C-Max Hybrid has three 12 V power points. From owners manual: LocationsPower points may be found:• on the front of the center console• inside the center console• in the luggage compartment. Power-point in the luggage compartment is always powered (the other two require vehicle to be on).
  7. Please note that WD-40 is a petroleum based product that can attack rubber door trim. I recommend using a non-petroleum based silicon spray to eliminate creaking issue (it worked for me).
  8. Well...I knew it was only a matter of time before I would need to use the "ignore" feature to block a specific member's posts as outlined in following forum help page...(and no, I'm not referring to you Paul): http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/index.php?app=core&module=help&do=01&HID=2&hl=ignore
  9. So sad...Ford announces a 20% increase in dividends over last year, and on the same day, states that it needs to move jobs out of country to maintain profitability: https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2015/07/09/ford-motor-company-declares-dividend-for-third-quarter-2015.html (After reading the article in OP a little closer, I'm glad the assembly plant in MI will remain open. They did a great job assembling my C-Max...first car I've owned that has not developed any squeaks or rattles!)
  10. There is a recall for the Restraint Control Module (RCM). Have your dealer replace the RCM, as it may be contributing to the issue you are having. A failed RCM can result in dashboard anomalies like you are seeing. See FORD RECALL NUMBER: 14S21 at following post for details: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/4380-recall-14s21-restraint-control-module/?hl=%2Brestraint+%2Bcontrol+%2Bmodule
  11. The Ford Fusion Hybrid site has a post on this Customer Satisfaction Program 15B04 for C-MAX which includes letter sent to Canadian dealers: http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/10149-c-max-low-12v-battery-customer-satisfaction-program/
  12. I use this 12V monitor: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EVWDU0/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I place it in receptacle by rear hatch (which is always powered). You can place in it front receptacle, but that one shuts off after about 10 minutes. When I exit vehicle I check 12V monitor. As the electronic modules power down, the voltage should start to slightly rise approximately 10-20 seconds after vehicle turn-off. If it does not, that indicates something is stuck on and is drawing current. A few times in the last 1.5 years this has happened to me (voltage would continue to drop below 12.0 V). When this occurred, I just started vehicle for a few minutes and shut off. This apparently would un-stuck whatever refused to power off, and voltage would then rise normally after turnoff.
  13. raadsel and stevedebi...Thank You for clarifying the eCVT transmission should be covered as part of the standard Hybrid / Electric Unique Component Warranty Coverage (which lasts for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first).
  14. I've read elsewhere on this forum that the eCVT trans is unique to the hybrid powertrain. If this is true, is the trans covered under the standard 8 year/100K power-train warranty?
  15. Podivin...thanks for the info on bluetooth enhancement. When you updated Sync, did you have to re-pair your phone? Did you lose your radio station presets? I ask because I have never performed a Sycnc update. Thanks again.
  16. Just logged in and noticed SYNC My-Ford (non-touch) update (Ver 4.4) was available for my 2013 CMax SE. It was added sometime in the last 4 weeks (since I last logged in). Has anyone installed this update? If so, have you noticed improved bluetooth connectivity? (With my current SYNC version, I frequently have to turn-off/turn-on bluetooth on phone to get connected.) Below is summary of update: What's included in this update? FJ5T-14D544-AB SYNC v4.4Bluetooth© Connectivity Improvements: Enhanced Bluetooth phone connection stabilityEnabled track information to be displayed for Bluetooth-streamed media including metadata such as song title, artist name and album titleMore robust Message Access Profile (MAP) functionality to handle SMS reception and Text2Speach outputMedia Connectivity Improvements:Improved media connectivity for USB-equipped Apple devices, as well as streamlined device initialization and authentication processPrevious USB or Bluetooth media source playback now resumed after ignition cycleAppLink Functionality Improvements:Better AppLink customer experience with more robust features and reliable functionality 2010-2013 Basic SYNC and SYNC with MyFord (without Voice-Activated Navigation) The v4.4 software update will add AppLink, in addition to improved quality updates, for 2010-2013 model year customers without Voice-Activated Navigation (who do not already have AppLink). 2010-2014 SYNC with Voice-Activated Navigation This software will provide improved quality updates only for 2010-2014 model year customers who have Voice-Activated Navigation.
  17. ICE starting right off? Is there something else that requires heating? -- The transmission fluid pump in the HEV model C-Max is run only when when ICE is on. Perhaps when transmission fluid is REALLY cold, ICE turns on at startup so transmission pump runs to add some residual heat to transmission fluid? This is just a SWAG on my part.
  18. I had similar issue with hatch not opening as described above. Dealer looked at my hatch issue. Fortunately, the latch problem was duplicated at dealership (it would not open for him until the 5th try). They determined no adjustment was needed. However, they did fix it by lubricating the latch. It has been working much better (works every time now on first try, even in the cold). Tech report on invoice stated: Latch dry, confirmed stuck, Lubed, Rechecked OK. You might want to try lubricating latch...hopefully that will work for you as well. Not sure what they used.
  19. Yes, the blue horizontal line corresponds to "lifetime" average miles (since last reset).

  21. Marc, Thanks for the suggestion...I will give it a try. Reviewing my owners manual, it appears fuse 79 is for "Radio, Hazard Light Switch". I have the base SE with base radio and Synch (not My Ford Touch), so is it safe to assume Fuse 79 is the same in all versions of CMax? (I would hate to trip the airbags... :) ). Did you have to reset your radio presets after this? Thanks.
  22. I agree the OP is unrealistic in expecting Ford to offer an upgrade to the next Sync version. Having said that, the current Synch version has a well documented history of not working properly. See this thread for a recent example: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/4744-audio-voice-command-stopped-working/ There is ample evidence that the current Sync version has not performed well and does not meet it's own specifications. I hope Ford will continue to support and improve the current Sych version. If not, then more people will be inclined to take a negative opinion of Ford (as the OP did). No one should expect Ford to upgrade us to the latest Sync, but hopefully Ford will support the Sync we originally paid for.
  23. Same thing just happened to me about 4 months ago (and re-occurred again this week again). BT was paired and working for several months, then for some reason, Synch would disconnect the "Phone Audio" portion only, leaving "Media Audio" working. (Status of these can be seen in Andriod Bluetooth menu.) See this thread for details...http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/4450-synch-dropping-phone-connection/ I have appointment with dealer set-up for this Monday....suspect they will have to re-program Synch again.
  24. I have the exact opposite problem in cold weather...the liftgate latch will click but the gate will not pop open, no matter how much upward force I apply. Last cold spell (with no ice on hatch) I had to pull about 7 times and the gate finally opened. Does not seem to matter if I use FOB or gate latch to try and open. Has anyone had this problem with liftgate in cold weather?
