  1. Paul, Do you know approximately where 210-215*F would be on the My View temperature gauge reading (e.g. is it 2/3 way up on temperature gauge range)? Thanks.
  2. Recall 14E02 involves reprogramming the PCM only, and can currently be performed by your dealer. The recall you are referring to above is another recall (14S21) that replaces the Restraints Control Module hardware (see below link): http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/4380-recall-14s21-restraint-control-module/?hl=%2Brestraint+%2Bcontrol+%2Bmodule As mentioned in above link, RCM availability is limited at the moment. 14S21 states dealers are to immediately replace RCM's for vehicles that exhibit airbag light fault only...other's that do not have airbag light fault will have to wait until mid 2015 once more modules are available.
  3. Just an observation...I think the 3 failures you list are related. I suspect failure 3 occurred first (and is something I have not seen reported in this forum yet). This high impedance wiring/fuse short most likely stressed the DC/DC converter components, causing it to fail. DC/DC converter's failure ultimately caused 12V battery failure. The 14.4V charge level you are now seeing is about right, The 12V resting voltage (with car off) should be 12.2 - 12.7 (= 50% to 100% SOC). I place my 12V battery monitor in rear hatch 12V outlet to montior battery resting voltage (this outlet remains connected to battery with car off). Let us know the fuse number/name when you get it. Thanks.
  4. Thanks for the suggestions. I tried deleting BT on both phone and Synch, then re-pairing, but no luck. Ford Tech did same...no luck either. Rebecca...Thanks for the suggestions. Ford tech re-programmed, and BT Phone connections are now working better than ever (including acceptable volume, which was always very low). I asked the tech what could have caused the glitch in the first place...he just pointed to the Microsoft label on the Synch and smiled... :).
  5. I have been successfully using my ZTE Z992 (Android v 4.1.1) for over 6 months to place and receive phone calls using Synch/bluetooth connection (on base Ford Synch system...i.e. no touch screen). For some reason, it will not work now. Both Synch and phone displays show Bluetooth connection is established. However, when I try to use phone, Synch states there is no phone available, and will attempt to find phone. None of the troubleshooting steps on Synch website helped (http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/troubleshooting-sync). So, I stopped by Ford and technician monitored the Bluetooth connection status on my phone and said that for some reason, Synch is turning off the "Phone Audio" feature, leaving only "Media Audio" Bluetooth connection. He indicated vehicle re-programming is required, and made an appointment. Phone software version and Synch software version are the same when I got both the car and phone, so not sure how the software could have changed and needs re-programming. Has anyone else had similar problem? Any suggestions on how to fix? Thanks.
  6. This article contains some more details on the Restraint Control Module failure (that now appears to be affecting both Ford and Chrysler): http://www.automobilemag.com/features/news/1410-chrysler-ford-issue-recalls-for-supplemental-restraint-module/
  7. When replacing the Restraint Control Module (RCM), they probably forgot to reconnect the wiring harness that powers the seat heat lights. According to a post on the Hybrid Fusion forum: The Center Console (CC) between the seats and part of the Center Stack needs to be removed to access the RCM, plus the SRS needs to be de-powered. Removing the entire CC is a 11 point dis-assembly and requires some finesse. I'm pretty sure RCM in C-Max is also in CC.
  8. +1 on above request for spare fuse kit info/link. I agree that blown fuses should not be a big issue (unless of course you encounter one and don't have any spares). Given the increasing amout of electronics and wiring in today's vehicles (esp CMax),I think a small investment in a spare fuse kit is just as important as perhaps a spare tire (especially since it appears the tire inflater provided by Ford could blow a fuse as was the case with TxWally).
  9. TxWally...when you get a chance to replace the fuse, can you report back if the fuse boxes contain spare fuses? Some manufactures store a few spares of each fuse type in spare locations (or under fusebox lid). However, the CMax manual does not indicate if the fuseboxes contain spare fuses. Thanks.
  10. Does anyone have access to description of the new TSB 14-0155 (or know what this new TSB does)? I recall someone in this forum was able to view TSB's and post their details. Thanks.
  11. My charging voltage is approximately 14.5 V, but I had TSB 13-6-23 applied after my first dead battery. TSB 13-6-23 raises the charging voltage for vehicles that operate in cold winter climates. I don't recall what my charging voltage was prior to TSB application, but I assume it was close to the 13.8 V that Plus 3 Golfer is seeing.
  12. With ICE off, the HVB does indeed charge 12V battery via a DC-DC converter (on both hybrid and energi models). You may want to have the dealer check for a charging problem with your vehicle. At the same time, what you observed may have been the result of some wierd interaction between the jumper battery pack and the DC-DC converter.
  13. If you purchased the Ford Premium Care Extended maintenance plan, it clearly states in "High Tech" section that it includes both Navigation System and MyFord Touch (see brochure link belew): http://owner.ford.com/Storage/mfMmediaFile/142/241/2014%20PremiumCARE%20Brochure.pdf
  14. Does anyone know of a way to set the center clock on base SE model screen? Dealer applied software update for airbag recall yesterday, and it has been not working ever since (It's really slow and I am not able to set using the Menu button...Clock Setting). Do I really have to wait 2 weeks?
  15. Have the dealer also check the 12V battery in your car (see other posts in forum on 12V battery issues for details). It most likely supplies power to the main receiver that picks-up transmission from FOB. A low/faulty 12V battery might also explain the other electrical issues you noted in original post.
  16. +1 on above post. Maybe Ford could provide some sort of 12V monitor service similar to what Tesla is doing: http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/showthread.php/33363-Thank-you-Tesla-Service-in-Scottsdale-Phoenix!-12V-battery-monitoring-and-replacement
  17. Paul, Perhaps the buzzing noise you are hearing underneath the back of the car after turn-off is this (?): http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2315-c-max-making-noises-at-night/?p=23707 It's been mentioned in some other threads that this is a fuel system evaporation leak test(s).
  18. Did the bad bearing make noise? I ask because I am hearing a sound from rear axle when coasting with window down. It's making a shhh.....shhh....shhh....shhh sound that varies with speed. Not sure if it is bearing or brake rub noise that I am hearing. Thanks.
  19. @ knahs42...welcome to the forum. The CR reliability data you refer to is old. If you are interested in up to date reliability data on C-Max, I suggest you read following links: http://www.truedelta.com/Ford-C-MAX/reliability-1010 and http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/817-c-max-reliability-better-info/page-2?hl=+reliability +report Their latest C-Max reliability report states: Our reliability stats for the C-MAX now include owner experiences through March 31, 2014, making them nearly a year ahead of other sources. Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year: 2013 C-MAX: 26, low (which means good reliability) My 2013 C-Max SE is almost 1 year old now and I have not had any major problems. To answer your question, Yes, I would buy my C-Max again!
  20. Yes. The seats are electrically heated (they do not use heat from engine). Sometimes for short trips I do not even turn on car heater. There is a rotary wheel switch with 5 settings. On setting 5, heat can be felt (on seat and back) within about 15-30 seconds (and that is through a winter coat). I quickly have to throttle back to 3 or even 1 within 1-2 minutes, even on very cold days.
  21. The heated cloth seats work great, especially on short trips. Using them (instead of the cabin heater) also helps reduce ICE (engine) run time in winter, resulting in better MPG. I rarely had to use the cabin heater, even with how cold this past winter was in upper midwest.
  22. Forum thread on Ford Extended Service Plan (ESP) can be found at: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2330-purchase-an-extended-warranty/ There are links in above thread to two dealers that sell Ford ESP plans. Plan info and pricing are available on their websites. If you go with Ford ESP, you should pick the Premium Plan, as that is the only one that covers the unique Hybrid components.
  23. I have not noticed any fading in my black mats during the 9 months I have had them (but most of that was over the winter). Also have not noticed any fading over the last 4 years in the grey ones I have in my other car. So, I am pretty sure the sun will not fade them. Not sure about the bleach, but Weathertech's website states it would void guarantee: WeatherTech® FloorLiner™ is guaranteed against faulty materials and workmanship for a period of three years from the date of purchase. Exclusions to this warranty are wear due to severe abrasive conditions and chemical contamination, such as spilled gasoline, bleach, etc. So, it sounds like bleach may actually damage the mats.
  24. Thanks for the instructions on how to post pics...here they are (I hope :)):
