I have the pics loaded into the forum's image gallery, but unable to figure out how to post them. Let me know how to post them if you can't find them.

I have the same "stone" color interior as you do, and I went with the black Weathertech mats (front only). While the black mat does not match the carpet, it does match the dash and door trim so it does not clash as much as the tan or gray mats. Sure glad I had them given how bad this winter was...otherwise my light color carpeting would be nearly black anyways from all the winter dirt :) . My recommedation would be to get the black Weathertech mats.

Yes, I have noticed this MPG "jitter" occur during highway driving at a constant speed. It seems to appear only when the HVB is nearly fully charged (regardless if being charged or supplying power) , and I am at constant speed on flat terrain. I seem to get the best MPG (with ICE on) when this MPG "jitter" occurs (usally at 65-75mph speeds). The MPG jitter rate is usually about 2-4 per second.

ptjones...the buzzing sound in back of car I was referring to would last about 8 minutes AFTER car was shutoff for about 10 minutes....I can't imagine why the fuel pump would be on for that long after car shutoff. I still believe it is some sort of HVB maintenance (perhaps to balance voltage among the cells)? A video of buzzing (about an hour after car was shutoff) can be found in post 14 of following: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/560-help-buzzing-sound/?p=20952

@mikeg: I too have had drained battery (twice). Like ptjones suggests, I monitor 12V battery and use this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EVWDU0/ref=pe_344980_118252440_em_1p_0_ti It monitors both charging voltage and 12V battery. If used in center console 12V outlet, car must be "running" to measure charging voltage. My charging voltage is usually around 14.5 to 15V. With car off, key must be in "accessory mode' to monitor 12V battery in center console 12V outlet. Rear 12V outlet is directly connected to 12V battery, so if used there, you can continuously monitor 12V battery with car off. That is where I leave mine connected, and check it for low voltages about 10 minutes after turning car off. I think car does some HVB maintenance after turnoff, so you will see 12V fluctuate up and down as much as 10 minutes after car shutoff. If everything shuts off the way it should, you should see 12V slowly rise after 10 minutes. If something is still on 10 minutes after turnoff, you will see voltage steadily dropping. I witnessed this continual voltage drop once upon shutoff...battery voltage was 12.75V at shutoff, but 10 minutes after shutoff, it was down to 12.1V (and still falling). [Note that 12.7V is 100% charged battery, and 12.1V is less than 50% charged battery]. So, I started car, ran for about 10 min to charge, and shutoff. Voltage stayed at 12.72v and did not drop. So, what ever was left on, was reset and turned-off. Since I have used this monitor, I have avoided a drained battery. Of course, this does not fix the problem, but does allow one to somewhat monitor 12V battery. Hope this helps.

@kostby...Thanks for info on Lifetime Summary. It appears ptjones and ScubaDadMiami are correct. I confirmed my later build (Aug 2013 SE) does not display Lifetime Summary (only Trip Summary). I now recall another thread awhile back indicating this feature was removed (not sure why). I guess I'll just keep using my Trip 2 Summary to keep track of lifetime stats.

Kostby...how do you display Lifetime Summary in instrument clustor (contained in you post above)? If there instructions in the manual on how to do this, I have not found it. Thanks.

Opening the tailgate with a dead battery
Zathrus replied to Cowspotdog's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Cowspot... you are correct, liftback will not open with dead battery. I know from experience...my base SE version (manual hatch...no kick opener), did not open when I experienced dead battery. In addition, shifter will not disengage from park with dead battery. This prevents you from putting car in neutral to push car if tow truck access to front wheels is blocked. There is a very cumbersome procedure in owners manual (pgs 215-216) on how to disengage stuck shifter. Or, you can apply 12V via jumper cables and shifter will then move. -
SThompson...Welcome to the forum. I too purchased my base SE CMax from an out of town dealer, and like you, also had dead battery. I took CMax to my local dealer (not selling) dealer, and they had no problem servicing my vehicle. They replaced battery, reprogrammed Body Control Module (BCM) and performed parasitic load check (passed). Your local dealer should do the same, even though you did not buy the vehicle there. One comment...if possible, try and take car to Ford shop that has experience with CMax...not all dealer shops are that familiar with CMax.

I had a totally dead battery last month. Dealer re-programmed Body Control Module (BCM) and replaced battery. They also did parasitic load test, but found nothing unusual. Your dealer should have done the same for you. So, yesterday I decided to check State Of Charge (SOC) on my brand new (1 month old) 12V battery and it was only 65% (per reading from high end battery charger recommended by drdiesel in numerous threads). Voltage reading (at hood terminals) was 12.45V which is about 75% charged. I'm wondering if these readings are low for a 1 month old battery?? The below thread/poll helped answer my question above....appears 12.45V is OK: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/1566-what-is-your-12-volt-battery-voltage/

Road salt badly collected into engine compartment
Zathrus replied to mxanotcar's topic in Body Panels, Trim, etc.
Welcome to the forum. I also have noticed the salt spray deposits on my engine components, and share your corrosion concern. Has anyone tried to spray/clean the engine? Is there a proper technique to cleaning the CMax engine without creating a problem with all of the electronics?- 15 replies

5W solar charger to keep the 12V battery fully charged
Zathrus replied to webcontrol's topic in Batteries
What model/make solar charger do you have? Does unit have to be unplugged at night (or when in garage) so it does not act as a drain on the battery, or does it automatically shutoff in low light conditions? -
Does our car really NOT HAVE a "Low Washer Fluid" indicator?
Zathrus replied to CarpeNivem's topic in Interior
CarpeNivem, Unfortunately, the CMax does not have a low washer fluid indicator. See following post for more disussion on this topic: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/3158-washer-fluid-leaking/ I agree that not having one in any vehicle is ridiculous...especially one as technologically advanced as the CMax. -
drdiesel1, I have similar Schumacher battery charger to the one you have referred to above, but mine is model SC-1200A. Can I connect charger to battery access terminals under front hood (with battery still connected in the back)? Or do I need to disconnect 12V-battery in the back and attach charger directly to disconnected battery terminals? Thanks.

Salman...looks like you had the same noises coming from dash that I had when my battery drained (see above post). What was the outcome in your issue...did they find anything under dash causing battery drain? Thanks.

Well, add me to the list of owners who encountered a dead battery/no start . First occurrence for me. Purchased base SE car in August 2013, and it has about 6K miles. Was tempted to jump car, but called Ford Roadside Assistance to have it towed to local dealer. (See Dead Battery thread for more details) I entered my VIN using link Ashley provided earlier in this thread, but CSP 13B12 was not listed. (In fact, no recalls were listed). Should I still have dealer perform CSP 13B12, or has it already been done on Car built in August 2013?

Was tempted to jump car, but called Ford Roadside Assistance to have it towed to local dealer. The doors did not open with remote, but when I opened with key and went inside, I heard a motorized air diverter vent under front dash moving for about 5 seconds, then stop. It would rest for about 5 seconds, then repeat. It did this several times. Is this normal? Perhaps this motor was running all day draining the battery? When I inserted key to try start, notice faint flicker of dash light by shifter, and no other lights or relay click.

Thanks jdbob for looking in the service manual. Looks like the CMax does not have a low Windshield Washer fluid indicator. All the past car's I've owned had this indicator...I'm kinda disappointed Ford did not add this to the CMax. I generally would fill up washer fluid tank every oil change with my other cars. However, with the longer CMax oil change interval, I guess I will need to top-off the tank more often in the winter so I do not run-out unexpectedly. Thanks wab for confirming there is only one tank. I filled the tank and confirmed there is no leak. Both front and back washers work fine now. I still find it odd that the front sprayer appears to stop working on low fluid while the rear washer continued to work. Perhaps the hose/pickup location in the tank are different for the front an back sprayers.

Hello. First Post. I have owned my CMax for 4 months and ran out of Windshield Washer Fluid for the first time today. I was shocked I did not get a low washer fluid indication on the dash. So I searched forum posts and also looked in CMax manual if a Low Windshield Washer indicator exists and could not find anything. Does the CMax have a low Windshield Washer Fluid indicator? Also, is it normal for front sprayers to go dry and still have rear sprayers working? (It looks as if they share the same tank) Thanks.
