I got Maxine back this evening. Driving from Galpin to the golf course, 48MPG via the freeway. Driving back from golf course...back to home....35.5MPG. I was doing 68-75 mph, trying to get the negative split mode aka ICE High MPG with the eco-cruise turned on....would not work, start stop typical bloody LA traffic....and some moron who decides to do 62 mph in the #2 lane and hog the lane with 1/2 mile of open lane. Dunderhead. 75% charge, doing 68mph and double tapping puts it into full EV eco...watch the battery run down REAL FAST. I ain't seen too much :love_shower: yet with the update...gonna hit the surface street on Monday and see whats that done. Temps not an issue, > 90F this evening.

So far, its been pretty good. I have not had to cuss it out (good start). Mind you, I am only using the radio-usb play function mostly and very little nav related calls since I know where I am driving most of the time. I remember a few cussing at 3.5.1 with these same functions.

Ford to lower fuel economy rating on C-Max hybrid
Jus-A-CMax replied to slampro's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
+1 I am prolly more loyal to Galpin Motor Company than Ford but that does not mean I do not want Ford to succeed. This is my first hybrid and 1st Ford car in the US and yeah All these EPA & :airquote: Ford lied/People died arguments is sounding like a really, really bad old broken record but then again, I see more than I care to since modding this board - have at it  My CMax is a success story, more than delivered MPGs and I learnt alot about FE driving. While some of you will say "Oh Jus HYPERMILES" - so WHAT? I am taking advantage of the car and what its designed for. If I want to hoon like an idiot to the red light, I have my PLUSH Jaguar to do that in style. At the end of the day, no one can take away from me that I drove 1,600 miles on 26 gallons of gas for my regular day to day work. Flame away ;) -
The Nav is not a sync issue, its a GPS module issue. You are proof 3.1.3 works fine with those GPS units which are fine. I started a thread on the 3.1.3 & Nav issue to see what was out there and there are some working ones. As I said, I believe there is a bad batch of GPS modules out there...as soon as they replaced mine, it worked. Others who did the same thing eg ArizonaEnergi, had the same result.

Free loaner vehicle from Ford during their mandated fixes

Yep, driving a 2013 Passat SE...I want my :flirt: CMax back!!!!! -
Well...yeah. I had a complaint thread and I have stopped. Sync is pretty good after the 3.6 update ;)

With the 2014, we may have to start noting if the Club Members are 2013 or later models - given the aerodynamic improvements being done by Ford for the 14 over the 13s. Unless you guys want a separate list for the 14s? Open for discussion but we don't have to worry about it until Dec13/Jan14 onward anyway... Jus a heads up :)

2 miles off my prediction - betcha u did that to make sure I missed the mark.... Awesome

618 is my prediction. 1/2 gallon of gas...thats 20 miles that you can go.
-
Erh...no..not 1/4 gallon...3/4 = 0.75. She's 12.13 right now. Assuming she wants to go no more than 13.00 gallons.

No worries mate, 424 is easy to remember...gawd knows what my plate is. Hypermiling is fun but it always knaws you as you wonder where you could have saved a squirt of gas. A normal driver would be over the moon with anything 65+MPGs on a run but when you hit want consistently to hit the 80s over the 22-24 miles, its tough...but its a game, like golf. Its not for everyone and so have fun with the CMax....hooning it. R u saying the Camry hybrid is faster than the Max? I didn't think it was that much more powerful with its 4....interesting. PS If you ever go to Calabasas or Westlake Village, do me a favor and take the 118, get off at Rocky Peak and then take the Box Canyon all the way thru Valley Circle to the 101...let me know what you think. I've been trying to get local CMaxers to take this route, the down the hill is a TON OF FUN but the trick is to keep your SOC as high as possible all the way to the 101....plus GREAT VIEWS as well so bring a camera ;)

Adair can do it EASILY, shes got 3/4 gallon of gas and can squeeze at least 30 miles out of it...

I just picked up my car with all 4 updates........
Jus-A-CMax replied to Recumpence's topic in Fuel Mileage
With your aero mods, you'll cream it. Sounds like I am only a wee back from you, mine is still in the shop until the end of the week. Apparently I might have some sort of coolant leak as well...we shall see when I talk to my SA when I pick it up. & hurry up, its kinda boring sitting here in the 800 Club by myself...come grab the crown.... :victory: & :skateboard: & :headspin: -

Really? I should tell my attorney to withdraw the suit then.... DAMN! Here I was thinking I can sue because I am NOT getting the promised 47/47/47.... who said more is better, they lied! I feel so cheated. Still. Prii? :twister: -
That is true about chargeability level when the battery is 80% or more, it drops to about 1.75 to keep it charging and at that power level, at freeway, its barely keeping the 60mph. My route is totally different and I have a choice - I can street it from San Fernando via Foothill, Chatsworth and Corbin all the way down to Woodland Hills, or I can take the 210-118 and drop down DeSoto. There about 15 MPG difference (80MPG street vs 65 Freeway/Street). The street is a killer, killer MPG run. Coming back, if I street it, its chews up the MPG more and I finish the day at 64MPG. Using the freeway, I finish the day at 52MPGs. Since I am taking a break from the MPG game, I am taking more freeways but I might do another 800+ run when I -eventually- get my CMax back from Galpin and try out the new update in my street run. If I start drawing 85MPG going to work and getting 66MPG at end of day, this should get my juice flowing for a 850+ barrier run...even if I have to sweat it out in the ridiculous Woodland Hills heat. It was 106F today there (according to my 2013 Passat SE loaner). I'll keep an eye out for your CMax when I hang around the 5 or 14. You can't miss mine, its the White Platinum with the "M" on the driver side liftgate.

You win charlesd. On days where the lights are sync and little to no traffic, it's the best...you have more control of the car & FE, and no pressure to kick in ICE. In heavy peak and busy roads you face 2 things bad for FE: start & stop which you have to use ICE to get up to traffic speed (someone is always behind you) and continued pressure to go 5 to 10 above speed limit to keep up with traffic. Plus you will never get any decent regen in true bumper to bumper traffic since you use more to EV and eventually your SOC is so low, you'll ICE it light all the other drivers...this is speaking from driving the highways from hell in LA....
-
So if I lose some weight...put on some Speedos.....I might get better FE....huh...never considered that...wow. stunning. :stirpot:
-
Rapier....Negative split mode...I dont get something here....did u double tap to drop it into that mode (ala the TheGen's thread), or did you leave it in jus eco-cruise and it's doing it, itself?

Holy Schmoley Guacamole Batman  You are going to nail this 600 easy peasy :happy feet:
