  1. Is this a new mtb, what did you do with the ole mtb....the one who could not get past the low 40s?!?!? well done :)
  2. salsag....be sometime. bill parks and I will talk mid week to schedule the change but right now, galpin is doing ZERO update while Ford is doing some sort of updating. Not sure what but hes been told NO updates till after Tuesday. So far these updates look encouraging but I think the eco-cruise ice high mpg is gone. i use to do the manual one way before the eco and I thought it was dangerous especially at the 65mph speed (see my thoughts in one of my early threads)....yes...jus :dogwalk: Right now, I am jus working on another 800 tank, should hit it tomorrow... (not :airquote: seriously hard like last one as this one will barely make past the 800 let alone smash my ole record)...but to me, thats still quite an achievement to get these BIG tanks just driving to/from work and the golf course :skateboard: *sigh* if my wifey didnt drive it, i would have gotten a wee close though
  3. ...they are. but it means crap if they aren't in the rollout plan for this latest update :headscratch:
  4. Well...well...well...seems like Galpin Ford here in San Fernando, Los Angeles has not even been hooked up with the new update. Its not on my etisford either....I guess Ford Motor is using the rest of the states as a trial run before before hitting the Prii City :stirpot:
  5. On your steering wheel, use the left side Up or Down arrow to get there. PS there is no red box like in that picture, I drew that on the picture (since people would not know the context of the picture).
  6. Lets hope the Aliens have been exorcised from Jelly Bean, it mush have been messy in that tight, hot confined space... :kookie:
  7. No tweak mechanically. I had a major issue with a panel near the gas pedal that kept popping but other than that, its been right as rain (hmmmh...except the MFT and GPS issues which the majority of us had here anyway).
  8. You are right.... Day 2, it hit me... :drop:
  9. Sounds like Dr Gray's new upcoming book.... "Men are from Mars, Women are from Death Star" ;)
  10. You could offer to teach her how to drive FE...like backing off the pedal and going into EV. Or use the eco-cruise option as much as possible. By the way, my wifey has only driven Maxine 3 times only, its strictly my baby :)
  11. Totally agree with you that its easier :) , but I am so use to it now it more a question of battery management & light timing now. Back to manual run today and I am back in the 79.2 Avg MPG, 1/2 squirt away from breaking the 80s or 1 too many 1/2 bar recharge burn. Did you notice that eco-cruise "stuck on" 0.4 burn recharge? Or do you take it out manually via tapping the brakes et al?
  12. Had to get that out...but I feel much better now....
  13. What are you complaining about? I had my car at 62.9MPG, then the wife took and it came back at 62.0 :twister: At 1/4 tank and at this level, that is a significant, huge drop and she still claimed she babied it. O'rely :sandman:
  14. Stay safe SDM. I tried the 2nd eco-cruise run today and it was poor. I finished with 59.5 MPG when I always usually come in >= 62 Avg MPG for the entire day. Jus shows you how fickle the MPGs can get - even whilst using the eco-cruise. Same EXACT route, same temps and time of day. One thing I noticed is that the eco-cruise will drain all the way to the end and then set a 0.4 Bar re-charge beyond the 50% SOC - so this was an extremely slow burn to build the battery but I didn't see the EV kick back in by the eco-cruise because of the traffic light. This could explain why my gas use was higher than the day before, I didn't see this pattern emerging from the eco-cruise. Now I am adament some of you posters swear by this eco-cruise over manual feather - and my question to you: did you notice this 0.4 bar show burn and did it eventually kick back to EV at some point? As I documented for my CMax, the slow burn consumes a lot more gas than the 2 or 1 3/4 bar burns to the same speed limit. Side news: I broke the 700 mile mark- 703.5 miles with 11.31 gallons used. I can hit the 800 but I think the timing is bad as I have to use the car this weekend...but this car is saving me a ton of money for sure :)
  15. Here ya go: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2449-so-you-think-a-slow-burn-is-the-most-fuel-efficient-way-to-drive/
  16. Ssssh....lucky I don't have to wait that long for my custom ordered Ping G25 irons with the KBS Tour stiff shafts. I hate the wait too...but Roger Dunn did offer me a loaner set to play with but I decline. Wish some Ford dealers would do this as well for all you new buyers... ;)
  17. Welcome to the forum :) Your MPGs will get better with time, trust me on this once you start improving your FE driving technique and the car breaking in slowly - and also you getting to know how to drive the car and "feathering" the pedal. All will come in time
  18. You are telling us that you are able to run 2 miles on just EV alone at 70mph? Please confirm...as based on my driving with the 3.1.3 (pre PCIM update of 3.5.1), this was barely manageable at 60 mph in EV for 2 miles and SOC was about 70% down to 40% at end.... :headscratch:
  19. So bad batch of ACMs and GPS modules....ssssh.....sounds like Ford has a quality issue with the suppliers.
  20. 1 mile is FE fine tuning cause you aren't going to burn a ton of gas at the speed and elevation, nor are you going to gain a bunch of MPGs. If I was driving, I would jus 2 bar it should be able to P&G it no worries. If its rolling, kick in some EV to build momentum for the next roll up. Hey SDM is going to test the 1 bar vs 2 bar burn. Are you willing to try this as well? U know the deal, zero to 35 mph, same stretch and direction of road, no EV start just ice and straight to 1 bar or 2 bar burn at constant rate, cut off at 35 mph, pull over and then camera snap the Trip 1/2 output). Be interesting to see what you get - u would think all our CMax would have the same burn rate. Edit: crap, i forgot your original q, yeah, if you want to 1 sec burst to 3 bars even 3 1/2 bar would give you a TON of torque. LOL, if SDM thought 2 bar was a lot, he ain't see sh*t yet.... :lol2: PS You guys should try to fang 7.5 seconds from zero to 60 sometime in the life of your CMax, really gives u some idea of the tremendous power this wee hybrid has. And sometimes power is what you need, its not all about slow and pokey... :headspin:
  21. What are the speeds involved here? Steep or moderate inclines?
  22. I have no idea what that wee bug was...but it was pretty.... :)
  23. So we know the CMax has nice little crevices under the bonnet for the leaves and twigs to gatherm hide and hold a party....and I decided on Sunday to clean up those crevices - you know, carrying all that extra weight, its really effecting my MPG runs here :shift: So there I was using the pliers to pull out the twigs and leaves and low-and-behold, I pulled out this lil bugger... It was dead...or so it seemed to me. Was it beautiful though for a wee lil bug. Enjoy :)
