  5. So today a 2013 Civic hybrid was riding side by side with Maxine in the morning drive to work. I could not but help admire the new car styling. Honda did a good job for sure. Yeah, its a sedan but I gotta admit it looked spiffy and sleek lines, nice wheels, seemed very stealth like in the dark blueish finish. The interior look a bit Prii-ish with that centre console thing...oh...oh.....I didn't eyeball the driver and nor did he. So..I went to work and decide to google this new car. Ssssh. IMO, this thing is no better than the Prii in terms of lack lustre performance. Yeah, I know, MPG and performance - oxymoron... :noobie: Honestly, not knowing about Hondas and I do know they make one hell of a F1 engines...I was thinking this car should do WAY better than the numbers I saw on caranddriver.com. Price wise, its a little less than a SEL CMax. But I do like it has some feature which are additional to the SEL ala rear view camera, lane assist and front colission warning. C'mon Ford, these things I would not mind paying for since I have a pretty high techy CMax anyway.... Other than that, its pretty much canned but its a good looking sedan. I was wondering what that Civic Hybrid driver was getting driving these same roads at me? Ha...the thought did creep in to have a cross-window conference (like I did with that white BMW owner about 4 months ago)....and I would have loved to have shouted to him "Yeah...not bad mileage...only doing 85.2 MPG over here..." ;) So, anyone see any other interesting hybrids out there...?
  6. Oh man, are you sure you want to do this? R U sure u want to come into the hybrid world where its not all about speed but the MPG...I dunno....that :drool: Tesla S performance might be more your alley....I mean the CMax is quick but in the MPG world, its never about speed.... :stirpot:

  10. Hopefully its a user error.... ;) Turn it off. Press on the brake and then press the start. Sometimes you need to press the brake firm. Just pressing start will just turn on the electronics BUT NOT the ICE/EV.
  11. Speaking of which, since I started a thread with the EV driving - I was thinking, it would be nice if they could have given me a stronger EV motor. Soup up the battery even a wee bit and soup up the EV motor a wee bit, let me manage the SOC and life would be so much better...

  15. If its youtube, just simply copy and paste the link. While I understand the eco-cruise, I still don't think its that efficient - however, next Monday, I will do my morning route to work in eco-cruise and see but driving conditions with morning traffic will vary.

  17. Wow...after all this time...the pain point is still the MFT...SYNC. If Ford was smart, they would keep an eye on this thread and use it to improve the MY15s. Hopefully, I won't be driving a Prii then... :dance:
  18. Yes! Wait till you try 2 1/2 bars. You have to experiment with it, don't be afraid of it and thats why I say, its not always SLOW to be efficient. Remember I started a thread "Punch it up the hill" such a long time ago...and thats when you use the engine at 2 1/2 to 3 bar burn in a second or 2 second - in such a short burst but it produces such torque, it really propels your CMax up these small grades - better than a 1 bar slow burn...and yet no one noticed...and I live up the hills, I'll be darn if I don't know what I am talking about... ;)
  19. Yeah, hit it with 2 bar, or if you feel a wee bit more charge...3/4 bar. Only time I use 1 bar is when I am really low.
  20. I don't know why they don't just replace the ACM. Galpin had my car for 3 days trying to diagnose the issue and from my discussions with them, the gist was that they could not find why the issue was coming out but I had proof. In the end, they replaced the GPS module and guess what...its never been wrong since. I would push for that approach as its hot here in the valley...even your aliens would deport themselves from this state....100+ and my car bakes and guess what, not 1 single issue with the sync. I think Ford has a supply problem with bad components for the early CMaxs ala GPS module etc. I'll come....in spirit...let me... :flyaway: in... :gold_star:

  24. Yeah, give it a go...its all free, cost you nuthin and everything to gain :) Just a note that SDM said above that he finds the 1 bar uses less gas than 2 bar. However, I find that its 2 bar is less fuel than 1 bar and quicker to speed as well...so there is a difference here in our car and as such - I would suggest you find out what works for you and the car.
  25. Left side: 1 bar , 2 bar , 3 bar, 4th bar yellow, 5th bar yellow. Red box is typically where you want to keep the power when accelerating in ICE white mode as compared to 1 bar accelerating in EV blue mode.
