  1. No minimum mpg, do your best and its that 33.6 so be it. 1 name on the honor roll. Theres a natural pecking order. If there are 100 poster who want to participate - go for it. Yes, current tank will work....otherwise I and others can pull some old photos (aka my 833.8) and go HERE! So nah, lets start afresh...
  2. 11StiLimited - GO FOR IT!!! :flirt: your sig btw!!!!! :victory:
  3. OK, here is something a little bit different. We all know about the 600+ CMax club and the goal of the Club is to break the 600 miles and go further and further and further than all your fellow brothers and sisters - all good :) However, lets try something different here than riding pure MILES...lets see how high can you get your MPG but with a minimum of 500 miles? Why this club and why 500 miles minimum? Answer - It eliminates the short downhills where we all get 100+ MPGs and its long enough to chew up 3/4 - full tank of gas for some...but not long enough to worry those owners who fear running out of gas. I am hoping this will increase participation and improve your FE driving doing this. So....its not about how long you can drive but how efficient you can drive the 500 miles. Now before you all jump on me and ask me for the "Time" - I thought about this and the way the timer works in the Trip 1 & 2 truly sucks. Its on as soon as the engine is on and will tick away when you sit in the car and not moving, working in the car or waiting in the car for a client to arrive (ala Matt and me) or you're chatting with your neighbor 4 yards from your driveway...you know the story. So if someone wants to go at 15mph and clock up the 500 miles that way - good for them...or if you are lucky to find a 500 mile downhill run....good for you - but lets see 'em....no "Oh I caught a :airquote: big one and it just so happen to have got away"....you know the deal. PS No past photos, all achievements on or post 7.19.2013 will only be accepted. 4. ...then why bother to get the update at all, if you can't tell the difference. lol. ;) :flyaway:
  5. Cool...we have a very good bunny going into the kiln :stirpot:
  6. As I was mentioned, I already expressed my concerns with the 85 ev in the other thread..so I will wait and see, aka do a Laurel
  7. :redcard: Didn't get the memo? 0 is the new 800 :shoppingcart_:
  8. ^Jus sipping a LEMONade  , yeah the Ice Storm is an intriguing color but at least there's no "premium" paint charge afaik unlike the red, white and blue ;)
  9. @CassidyB - It's not strange, thats the way Eric runs the page. Other stuff has dissappeared too while he leaves the moronic kbf and kenneth cho postings. Damn, after the time I spent writing about going EV from 62 to 85 too. You can't have any serious discussions on these FB pages, its a coffee house that doesn't sell coffee..."hey look at my shiny new CMax"...."hey do you think the aliens found anything in Adair's "CMax ad".... :lol2: & :headspin: We now return you back to your normal channel.... ;)
  10. Closing this thread. Lets shift all discussions to:
  11. I had some concerns with one aspect, see the 1st page, seem like the only one here but the other update detail seem fine to me. Matt my fellow hypermiler is of the impression we will get about 2 MPG difference but I am not so sure. The CMax right now is very strong on the surface street but the achilles heel is the freeway but we have a great workaround and seems like these changes include removing the work around or so it seemed. I think ths is a whole package upgrade as well...all or nothing, so removing the 62mph upgrade is not an option, I feel. We shall see...
  12. That maybe but it will be years till we see a real dent in the Prii wave here in Los Angeles/SoCal. I still see soe Gen1 running around more than I see any CMaxs.
  13. AE, out of curiosity, are u able to do some form of ICE High mpg? How does your eco cruise behave at 60 mph vs 70 mph in it's battery management? Since the Energis already have the 85mph and we're heading there.
  14. Makes no difference to my route, given the traffic conditions it's about 10-13 mins diff and over 10+ mpg difference. I know which one I'd take. However on my Mammoth trip it will make a diff as it's all freeway and hence my concerns over the ice high mpg which gives me 40-45mpg at load. We shall see :) Might do a Laurel here....hmmh.
  15. Umh. ..not the mpg king, jus someone who's keeping the seat of warm for you :victory:
  16. Trust the engineers.... :headscratch: I asked them about the 62mph limitation back in Feb 2013 at the Irvine pow-wow and they said it could NOT be done, not enough battery. So now we can do this? Poof...jus like that... :stirpot:
  17. Its legit - here's the deal here. Since jmonty is going > 62 mph and all downslope, he's not running in the EV mode.EVM does not kick in, so hes only showing the white ICE mode on even when he's coasting because of the speed. Had his speed been way less, yeah....then I would expect a ton of EV to show.
  18. Thanks for the thread, but lets keep the discussion on this topic to http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2536-ford-to-offer-free-updates-to-boost-hybrid-vehicle-efficiency/ :)
  19. Just drive the car and enjoy it. When, and if you're ready to play "the MPG game" - headdown to the Fuel Mileage section. ;)
  20. Seth, thank you for the thread - there is already another thread already discussing this topic: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2536-ford-to-offer-free-updates-to-boost-hybrid-vehicle-efficiency/ Lets carry that discussion there and save the forum another thread and spread out postings :)
  21. No doubt, I agree the shorter warm up time is better and ABOUT TIME. And the active shutter control being intelligent is also ABOUT TIME. However....I had sometime to think about this when driving home tonight...and these are my concerns: 1. 62mph threshold seems great onb the surface but one of our tools is the ICE High MPG and we specifically use the above 65mph to charge our batteries high and put it into whatever phase mode and utilize the high battery charge - this will definitely be effected, as now we have no way to charge up the battery high unless you P&G like made, or happen to have a downhill terrain. I suspect it would be like the eco-cruise at 60mph which I do not like which is basically use the battery, drain it in 2 second, rinse and repeat - far less useful than ICE High MPG. I could be wrong...and we shall see. I just hate to think about the loss of the ICE high mpg which I do use on my freeway drives. 2. If you think about this update and IF its true - this is utterly astounding in the nature. That means Ford always had the means to break the 62mph for us regular hybrids but they kept it under with software (but spread the limit as hardware which is UTTER BS). However, to me this would be like going from XP to Windows 7, much sleeker and its all software (at this point). It will be like Toyota giving their Prius a 85mph threshold as well...UNHEARD OF and if IT is true - wow - this is evolutionary. My 2c. PS Who knows, with this update - my 800 could like the new 600s... :happy feet: ...spreading :love_shower:
  22. Timer....its an old discussion - this is starting to rise as my pet peeve...ha...I do have something to :airquote: complain about, after all...
  23. Let me check...no its not April 1. This would be nice but the real world says the battery is too small to hold any decent distance even with a full battery at speeds > 62 mph, I'll take it though. Ps what happened with the physical limitation aka battery limitations that was the road block in the first place when we talked about this at end of Dec2012?!?#?!
