  1. Thats FREAKING AMAZING
  2. Welcome to cgul as our 31st member of the 600+ Mile CMax Club :) At 11.85 gallons, he could have gone onto 650 ;)
  3. Like: All of the above Dislike: All of the above Told ya I was am a simple driver & poster. Quck...leave the room before Adair gets to this thread...
  4. HB, thats a problem even with some of our CMax tanks as you probably saw. Personally, I always use the lowest setting myself as well but no issue there. I swear I am lucky to avoid these and other issues. Touch wood. 1 gallon for 200+ miles, they'll be breaking the 2,500 miles per tank soon. Sign them up for the CMax Energi forum, those are great numbers from what I know
  5. 11 - keep those numbers up and its the 700 club there. Nice job guy :) Hope you're using Trip2 to track your entire day - that will give you a better indication of the day and if you score above 50 for the day, that is HUGE!
  6. Thanks salsaguy, I'll patch up the article over the weekend :)
  7. Thanks hybridbear, I didn't have time to check the FFH forum that night - if there is one or anyone close to breaking the big numbers, it would be you guys :) I peaked at fuelly.com and theres nothing telling there except for a few which appear to have the wrong FFH type - they are really Energis. We had a similar problem initially in Fuelly as well with the intermixing of the Energi and regular CMaxs...but like I said, I could be wrong. The tank refuel is big news to me...is that receiving a lot of complaints? I would definitely be PO if Ford jibbed me out of that 2 1/2 gallon (assuming 11.5 avg). According to LizM and I also checked the Ford site, you guys have an even larger tank with 14 gallons vs 13.5 non-Energi CMaxs aka us. Energi C-Max has 14 gallon - be interesting if those boyz also get their full 14 gallons from 0 DTE. I thought it was 13.5 as well - thanks for the clarity. Foo..gotta me a Passat (after I get a Prii, in that order ;) ) 4.6c per mile makes my 6.6c looks like I drove a BIG SUV. Reading the aticle, the numbers are similar to mine but instead of 3 days (obviously this couple doesn't work or on vacation time), it took me 15 days but the end hours are similar (assuming they used a lapsed time). I think the best on a Prii was 1,3xx - that was pretty impressive given the even smaller tank size but that one was a special route and loop and team, just for hypermiling purposes only. Although, someone reckons the 1,000 is a doable in real world driving conditions.
  8. So I posted my 833.8 on Ford Social - might as well since no one is rooting for our CMaxs  Then someone claimed his Ford Fusion hybrid did a 1,013 miles. And then also claims he didn't have a picture of it. Now, if you did something momentous like this, EVERYONE has a camera phone and why wouldn't you take a picture of it to show to your wife, colleagues and friends? :runaway: Anyway, I am not really doubting his claim (I am but its my thread so I can say what I want to say) but a Fusion Hybrid vs CMax - totally different aerodynamics, platforms, driveability and utility. The only thing they have in common is the powerplant and the MFT. You guys know where to find the link. Discuss away... PS I'll keep my CMax even if it just does 500 miles cause you can't fit 2 mountain bikes, or pack the vehicle full of snowboard/skis and tons of gear without a box in a FFH....there is NO utility in a Fusion Hybrid...its an ordinary sedan with an Ashton Martin grill....so there... ;)
  9. Updated to add my thoughts on surface street driving, added a battery management section in the secret sauce section.
  10. Great job snowstorm  You should get better MPGs as you add more miles.
  11. No way is Ford going to touch my brakes/regen jus cause some drivers prefer the sloppy Prii brakes  Jus my 2c ;)
  12. Did you do the undertray? (not sure if I missed that or u still have this on hold?)
  13. Time to move it on....do what you gotta do, never good to have these bad experiences. I am thankful mine is prestine and great mileage so you know these cars are not all bad. best wishes for the future.
  14. Stick to the 2 bar acceleration when in ICE, in that red box in my review. Feather for ICE. Jus keep it simple like that and don't try anything else until it all gels. After that, the world is your oyster for the picking... ;) Remember to EV up from zero to about 10mph and then kick in ICE....the 2 best hypermiles do this...so I think we know what we are doing
  15. I live jus on the other side of that teenie weenie hill you see in that distance, see ya there... Oh wait...whos gonna pick up the cost to truck Maxine over. LOL. Didn't think so.... ;)
  16. Adair, this should be tested in the really cold as well..you know, no harm :stirpot:
  17. Guys, its all about speed, load....AND HVAC use ...AND terrain. You cannot expect 47MPG or low 40s with all 4 factors in play and then also tout you traveled at traffic speed of 75+ mph; throw in some 1000+ ft elevation..36mpg sounds right. And no FE driving so you're probably ICE gunning down hills/downslope anyway at 70+ mph.
  18. Edsel, 2 bar or JUS below the point where the regen stops. I rarely use 1 bar acceleration, that POs the cars behind me and I drive in peak traffic (I am already late this morning). If my SOC is high, I use what I call Burst P&G (read my review below, I make a note of it) where I go as high as 2.5 to 3 bars for SHORT burst (regen is in the glide phase here). As you can see I am different but we all hypermilers have different ways - theres no right or wrong, jus what works for you and your right foot. Gotta run...
  19. Nice and informative, thanks Seth7721 :) Takeaway is that, you should not be in a hurry in a hybrid, if you want to maximize the MPG.
  20. Not much better..even after a HUGE tank. See below...
  21. ^That was my previous best when I had nearly empty weight in fuel and nothing in the car except a spare gas. So this happened this morning... I dunno what to say about this one, I went to work in the morning, exact same route as my 800+ runs. Now my Maxine has 4/5 tank, I have 2 mountain bikes jus cause I was taking it to the bike shop for some maintenance (I am rather unskilled when it comes to mechanics unlike Super Matt :) ) and a dead chunky UPS in the back as well...and this is what the MPG God thrown me this morning... I just went as I normally went...GO FIGURE. And I was not even trying, just cruising to work. This should not be happening as I was carry far more weight than my previous best. What is this saying? Weight doesn't matter? Temps was the same, traffic same, nothing special I can recall in the traffic light sequencing... Yet, its my Personal Best. I wished I had my Trip2 on so that I can see the final fuel used like with the 2 decimals as I normally do...far out, is Maxine jus getting better & better?
  22. I "punch" the CMax all the time, a proponent of it (fighting the wave of "slow is good") here and even got its own thread but I have never smoke et al. Who knows...
  23. I'll back that up as well ;) Better than the 105 outside today and the car is still aerodynamic
  24. Hee...unfortunately no, won't be a fair fight. Over at the Energi forum, theres something similar but they play in the thousands vs us mere "mortal" CMaxs ;)
