  1. Ouch, I shudder. Wait, thats the same mileage my wifey gets in her Jaguar. Nevermind
  2. Thanks Nick. I did! I did! Came home and felt the breeze and engine ROAR. And I even socre a 47 MPG freeway WITH AC...gotta :wub2: that. Sometimes the MPG :) on you and next day :finger: into the MPG pulp.
  3. You ain't the only one!!!!!! I was dead set - knew what I wanted in my Ford Fusion Hybrid (FFH) and on the sheer whim of testing the new Ford hybrid engine (at that time, Galpin only had C-Maxs and no FFH) I tested the C-Max. The rest is :shift: HISTORY. I am sure in an alternate universe, there is a Jus-A-FFH on some forum run by Robert Lane (who probably works for Toyota) . And Adair will have her FUZZY PINK rabbit bunnies instead of Aliens in her car.... :hysterical: Welcome to the Forum by the way
  4. LOL, Ford would have to pay a ton of money for me to leave my new job, and as much as I hate the 9-5 job and miss my "freedom" of the appraisal job, the money pays the bill. To me, these high MPG tanks help save me MORE money no matter how "little" most people seem to trivialise the numbers, every penny counts. Someone will break the 833.8 (hope its Matt) but for now, I have my K2 while Matt has Everest :)
  5. Great summary SDM. Keep it up and you'll be hitting 650miles a tank with AC on ;) When I started, there was hardly anyone on this forum so all there was no real warnings about gauge watching and I had to learn that myself. Feathering - what the hell was that? Truedat. Now every new owner/poster has a HUGE advantage from the combined knowledge of this much bigger forum. I hope more hypermilers will show up but I think the mass majority here are in the middle...
  6. I was going to say darrelld... ;) Enjoy your weekend and please, keep us posted. I hope it all works out at the dealership.
  7. That is sweet CMaxgo, way to go girl  This is my personal best from this morning's home->work run (same route usually 72-75 MPGs) but this one was sensational (if I say so myself):
  8. 833.8 miles. See http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/2316-journey-to-800-miles-on-a-single-tank-in-a-c-max-hybrid/ I think I am going to go on a "MPG-free vacation" for a wee while. Be nice to feel the breeze of over over 60+ mph :hysterical: Side Note: I just added my fuelly. I actually topped up (naughty, naughty I know but who cares). Anyway, I entered my fuelly.com and decided to check out the other CMax fuellys and there is a 724 miles by "Super Sipper". So there are others out there with more than 700 miles to join frbill, Matt and I
  9. Yay indeed! This is a GREAT day - 800 miles is broken and Adair gets her Jelly Bean back - does not get any sweeter than today - booyah
  10. Your wish has been granted, see Post #1. Other tidbits...this was my BEST very run from home to work... This last day was UNBELIEVABLE in the sense that Maxine would not stop giving me these ridiculous MPGS. It was driving on empty, less than 1/2 gallons and wow - talk about the extra energy at the end of a Marathon (Adair - Asia would know this). That was what it was like. If I didn't have to work, I could have kept driving on but alas. Snowstorm - enjoy your Palindriome and I expect you to keep that thread alive ;) Thanks again to EVERYONE to cheer me on. It was hot, tiring and you can tell, it got frustrating there about 10 posts back but every little cheer helped me on. The Ford C-Max totally  on the surface streets.
  11. My answer is it all depends. For me, I have hills to climb and the way my fe driving pans out I am half battery (or just a tad below) and my last leg is only doable (without gas) with the lower threshold from EV+ otherwise ICE kicks in and there goes more gas. I now have ev+ before my work location and I luv cruising in. The subsequent cold restart, ICE is always gonna kick in any way (inevitable) so I am going to get my charge no matter what and away I go... So yes, for me is to keep it on. 17,000 miles on & I keep my ev+ on. I see this as more gain than anything else due to my final destinations. Ps after the 3.5.1 update, I lost my ev+ and sure enuf, ICE kicked in right as I got to the start of my street. P*ssed me orf.
  12. May be I should testing drive the Vee too. I did drive a 2010 hatch though. What if I liked it? Will Adair and RachelinLA save me? Hmmh this would make a good hybrid geared "Twilight Zone" episode :stirpot:
  13. Thanks Matt, congratzs from you mean a ton to me since you've been there when you were the first to scale this CMax Everest and broke the magical 700, and know the effort - and sweat- to push this great car we both proudly own and drive. But I gotta say, the nudges from you really helped me and others to push more. Someone may yet break the 850 or 900 still but we both recognize that is SUPER, SUPER tough and my hats off to anyone who does this.....so can I pen you down next week? :)
  14. We always have this argument about that useless time. Its no indication of average speed since its so easy to convolute and frankly I am too tired to rehash the reasons behind them. I have already outlined the speed limits of the road I drive; sometimes I luck out with the lights and sometimes not. As for regen, terrain selection also influence regen, not necessarily lights alone and I pick my route carefully and tweaking. Home to work is 21.4 and lunch may vary, plus add in the gym, shopping and all in the valley :)
  15. Ooooh, thats serious. Last time I had this long was my GPS. Hope they gave u a good loaner in the interim.
  16. All done. I did not run the fuel out, that's silly imo So...goodnews for snowstorm - its a palindrome  Latah ;)
  17. Freaking awesome frbill!!!!! Congratulations. I think overtime more 700s and a few more 800s can be reached but at these high miles, the air is thin indeed and tough, tough to get. Matt had 4 and more tanks at 700+, I think I hold the most at 10+ tanks at 600+ miles...so now you're in the rarified air of 700. Enjoy the view :camera: & I'll get to Post#1 tonight unless Adair gets there first.
  18. Thanks guys, check in tonight for the final tally  Don't laugh. ..I think its possible. If the Prii can do this with their 12 gallon tanks, the cmax can - imo - but with the right continuous loop and drivers who have a TON of patience as it probably mean 60+ hrs at a snail paced 20 mph or there abouts. Don't look at me, wifey will KILL me.
  19. Can't post pics at this time so tonight. Palindrome, what's that? oh...that's right, there's a thread for that ;) We'll see...
  20. Oh crap, sorry to hear about these issues. Any chance if people with issues can update us with their build dates? Hope yhis doesn't turn out like the dead batts issue, fingers crossed...
  21. The 800 is broken!!!!!!! :happy feet: ...but I am not done yet. This morning's drive was INSANE....I hit 82.1 mpg with 0.26 gas used over 21.4 miles. A new PB for the exact same route I take last 2 week (after some route tweaking before that). Again, nothing special except a fool in your typical beaten up mini/caravan in this city deciding to cut me off by crossing a major arterial that I was in the middle lane coming to a light stop. And then block me while he was at it...and then...had the gall to give me the dirty face after rightly deserving a good HONK. Morning Morons.
  22. Its amusing, I use to see that Galpin Jaguar use to tout how good they were with the JD Powers and I had a lemon in 1/3 Jags that I owned. The other 2 were OK, but Galpin really took care of these cars though. Ford is ranked last here in this survey and yet its been the most trouble free for me, mechanically. Whilst the article will prick & prod Ford for the better in the long run, unfortunately, its a nice big stick used by the haters and we truly, truly have some haters out there, to beat up the CMax model.
  23. you'll find a street with no traffic and give it a go. its "weird" a the start but give it time. 2/12 says worses. wow.
