Its a sensor issue, per Ford Engineer at the Irvine POW-WOW, the sensor is "asleep". Sometimes even when I press the button on the back, it will unlock and I need to press it another to active the open motion. You can hear it waking up but just fail to open the liftgate. Its a known issue and they're still working on the patch...don't ask me when they'll fix it. Oh....kicking it just underneath the bumper is a SUPER, SUPER tip, its not failed me yet and no more embarassing "wax on wax off" moments where the liftgate fails to do anything.

Hallelujah...thats almost like the way I drive as well. I run my tires at 45 psi and they heat up to about 49-50 psi, I checked. Big difference between that and the regular pressure imo, especially in the glide phase. I actually prefer the ride quality about it, almost "sporty" in the feel and not the limousine feel like my Jaguar VandenPlas. High battery is key, and never drain to low if possible  Great post Matt, independently confirm some of my thoughts and saying some while back as well :)

Getting GPS Module Replaced!
Jus-A-CMax replied to ArizonaEnergi's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Thats great news ArizoneEnergi! I took mine for a long spin today and it performed 99.99%. The 0.01 was due to if offtracking a wee bit as I made a 90 degree turn off a Freeway exit ramp and it soon corrected itself within a second. The old one would just stay there. Other than that, I could not fault it and put that down a mere blip... -
C-MAX appears to be challenging Fusion in sales
Jus-A-CMax replied to Riddley's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
That is most interesting...I originally wanted a FH but there was ZERO stock (Dec 2012) and then boom the FH outsells the CMax and now the CMax is rebounding back. Go figure. PS I will still take the CMax over a FH anyday, its THAT GOOD of a car over the FH. Superior, superior, superior  -

Recumpence - it would make a great idea if you can post a thread in the hybrid tips/tricks section about what you recommend as the most efficient driving methods aka P&G for example. For example, some argue for long regen while some argue for shorter quick pulse, what does your scangauge say? <---stuff like that would really help the driver here a lot. Let's hear it.... ;)

MFT - talked to Ford and 3.5.1 update
Jus-A-CMax replied to wamba2000's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Sigh, I read that last post, "wrong" software...that is amusing. It's not the best choice of word but I understand his annoyance but I am amused that he claims to be an "early adopter". C'est la vie. -
If you come to SoCal, we also have no misquotes and plenty of dry air. Nasty stuff these misquotes, must be the LA version of mosquitos but a bit smaller, kinda big crocs are alligators there.... ;)

^jus don't start quoting "stones" as weighting measurements ;) -
Its probably still fluid, kinda like when I reset my TRIP1 when I refuel - the 1st quarter tank is so volatile, one squirt here and it drops 3 MPGs, or I 1/4 mile EV is goes up the same but then it starts stabilizing as more data comes in. Remember, the gallons used is the bottom denominator and any changes, even minor will drastically change the Avg MPG and Lifetime MPG. Keep an eye on your TRIP readout after you turn off the engine, it should never be 8 MPG or that low. My 2c.

Day 4 - got my CMax back with a NEW GPS - fingers crossed this is the fix. Be sure I will keep an eye on it. Focus is back to Galpin. Now...final MPG is 27.22. used 10.761 gallon and 293 miles. Not too bad at all but I cant get use to the noise engine. Avg MPG was 33.1 reported. Don't ask, I have no idea why. Ah...nothing like my own CMax...yah :)

Getting GPS Module Replaced!
Jus-A-CMax replied to ArizonaEnergi's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I am going to be honest here and candid, imo - your dealer will work their butt off for you but from the vibe I am getting, Ford is not acknowledging any issues with the GPS but you have to take your CMax in, show them the proof that the Nav is playing up and then the dealer will work on the issue. Galpin Ford worked hard on mine, I know, they had the car for 4 days now and they eventually replaced the module and they were generous to lend me the Focus as a loaner. I cannot say enough how they kept me up to date and worked hard on my CMax. I pray this is the solution and the service manager (not advisor) was candid enugh to me. He's got other Ford vehicles with the same 3.1.3 with the exact same issue and its puzzling, we are both hoping for a 3.5.1 update soon. Kudos to Galpin, I :wub2: these guys, they will "bat for you" as we say in Australia  No, it was not a 3.5.1 update. I have the A3 label in my SD but according to Galpin, it's an A4 version in the card. Go figure, no word on the 3.5.1 update yet and even Galpin does not know  -
Getting GPS Module Replaced!
Jus-A-CMax replied to ArizonaEnergi's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Galpin replaced my GPS, the service manager is not promising anything (and he was honest) but as far as he can test, the new module was flawless. I drove it back to my home and it was spot on, added a few 90* turns and it was cool. Still taking me a while to adapt back to the hybrid driving...ssssh.....anyway, we'll see. -
Tell her to keep it up and if she clocks over 600 miles a tank, take a picture of it and we would :wub2: to add her to the 600 mile Cmax club  Congratulations :)
-
Welcome to the forum and congratulations :) That's one of the best thing about the CMax, it has a high roof line and you never feel cramped for room up there, I'm 5'9 myself. It also carries to the rear so you can pile up the bags as well. As my wife said, for a lil car, its got a surprising amount of room. Enjoy the car and the forum

It depends on the neighborhood as to how WILD the market is. Short sales/REO marketed in the MLS may be a factor especially in the > $500K markets. High ends see very little of these distresed sales and the market is basically holding values. There are odd ones where the guy spent $1.8M and its now down to $1.3M - big loss and this guy wants to refi, its ain't happening buddy. The Dodd-Frank act has basically done the same thing as what your govt is doing -its very tough and you need 20% regardless of your credit rating to qualify as a "compliant buyer" - we don't decide who gets the loans or not, we just assess if the guy/gal has overpaid or not for a refi or new purchase. The DF act has changed things, which was meant to be good for the market but like every other govt compliance, there are un-intended consequences where its hurting the good buyers. In the past, it was 10 1st and 10 2nd and you didn't need to have PMI so basically unless u have excellent credit, work history and huge deposit, its tough. We know the banks have the monies but they ain't lending - but u know what, on the otherside, home owners are not selling either which is why we have to sometimes go back 6 - 12 months for the comps, when a year ago, we had plenty of comps less than 1 month old... As for selling price - I don't see people use the tax assessment values over here as selling price, but then again, I am not a realtor. Most people still use nearby sales and perhaps add 3% to 5%. The thing is that is the property being bought comes under value, the buyer is required to makeup the difference in most times. Occassionally, the seller may drop the price, it all depends but the trend over here is that buyer picks up the diff..making the deposit even bigger. I know one house I did was sold for $1.39 and it came in $1.30..thats 90K that now has to be made up...but thats the way the chip falls. Other cons with tax assessments is that a) it's an automatic model, so you have an average and does not consider any amenities or conditions b) over here people want their assessments low and sometimes they will order an appraisal to fight the tax guy c) using it, you are not utilizing the market especially on the increasing trends so you're missing out. I dunno, it sounds too weird to me to do that but I don't live in Canada nor follow the way of thinking there, not even sure if they have the same standard of appraisal practice. On the flipside, where I live, its got zero arms length activity, lots of short sales (bad, bad, bad) and yes, it's the sub $500K areas so we are still getting hit. In 2006, my place was worth just a tad under $1M. C'est la vie. -

Don't laugh, my buddy appraiser does that all day long. However, I have to say, the high and I mean > $2M end clients require the trousers, short and leather shoes, presentation is a must. However, thats not to say a guy in the Bermuda short and floral hawaiian shirt can't do jus a good a job....jus sayin' ;) It suppose to be really windy today but right now as I am posting this, it is gorgeous outside...*sigh* and I have reports to type up
