  1. Today is our 25th wedding anniversary party and the C-Max was dead in the garage. Started right up with our trusty Black and Decker model JUS300B portable jumper, but hope 15B04 can help fix the problem Last time was on 7/3/14...the morning of the start of a cross country trip, and today was the biggest gap between dead batteries. This car knows the worst times to die  Scheduled a dealer appt for this Weds - wish us luck. Scott in Denver
  2. Sorry to post with a 'problem' car, but have to vent today. Last time battery went was July 3rd last year (2014) - of course as wife was preparing to go across country for a family funeral. Been at our Ford dealer for previous 'dead battery' situations. and having bought a couple of cars there, they squeezed us in on a crazy day before the holiday for a new 12v battery. Poor wife was stressed the whole trip about no starts at interstate rest areas or gas stops. No problems in last 11 months. Today, the day of our 25th wedding anniversary party, it's dead. Started right up with portable Black and Decker jumper (model JUS300B), but man this car is pi$$ing me off! It's totally love/hate as we love the size, fit and function, gas mileage, power band, USA marque hybrid, etc., but these dead car situations are insane. Looking for best ways to effectively charge the 12V battery now on the forum. Seriously considering trading it in on a Focus - the original car we went to buy when we purchased the C-Max. I would own a non-hybrid C-Max (thousands of them in Europe) in a second. Thanks for your time - sorry for the rant. Scott in Denver
  3. Read, read, read this forum. I spent a bit of time before buying ours (maybe an hour or so), but may have gone the 'all gas' Focus route after seeing the posts about battery reliability issues (dead C-Max in our garage as I write this). We have loved the car since we bought it, but reliability is of utmost importance to us and I'm not happy at this moment - hoping some vodka, ginger ale and Olympics TV coverage will help that a bit, eh? ;) Buy new or at least get a great warranty with your used C-Max... 4. Hi all - Have used the forum to gather information both before and after my Fall purchase of our 2013 C-Max, but just registered today after finding our 'dead' CMax in the garage this morning. Had originally intended trading our 2008 Mazda 5 microvan/wagon for a Ford Focus last Fall, but was given a great deal on a new 2013 C-Max SE and went hybrid. A little bummed now after MUCH more extensive reading today. Since so few have posted in the thread about failures after the latest software update I'm hoping a new, fully charged battery from the dealer (under warranty!) will take care of the problem. So sorry to hear how much you all have been going through over the past 2 years with the bug fixes. First saw C-Max's in Europe in 2010 and hoped all the bugs were taken care of over there - obviously not, eh? Scott in Denver
  5. Above request done, but there are only a couple of posts in the 'new' thread - is everybody else doing okay after the 13B12 update? Especially interested in the cold weather climate members. Our car is garaged 85% of the time (100% at home). We did not receive a new battery at the dealer during the 13B12 update (was assured it was fine) but since this was a 2013 model purchased late in 2013, I wonder what shape that battery was in considering it sat on the dealer lot so long. They practically gave the car to me as they had so many sitting on the lot, but as I work at a hospital, reliability is most important to us. We were so proud to finally become an all Ford/US auto family for the first time in over 30 years - a little bummed now. Scott
  6. Did my 13B12 work at Freeway Ford (Denver) on Jan 14, 2014. Was told battery was fine, no replacement done. Car found dead in garage this morning. First dead battery problem for us, but just got the car this Fall. We love this car but will NOT tolerate dependability issues. Scott in Denver
