  1. Tinta, what switch did you replace and did it end up fixing the problem? My daughter’s 2014 Energi is having the same issue. Battery died, replaced it (which is almost impossible because with no battery you can’t open the hatch) and noticed that the left and high mount brake lights stay on. After reading this I took a spin and noted that the cruise is also not working. I’ve got the fuse pulled for the brake lights now so I can charge it back up, but need to figure out what needs to be replaced to fix it.
  2. My daughter drives my old 2014 Energi. She got stranded the other night because the battery was dead. Was able to get it jumped and drive it home and replace the battery (Tip, if you need to jump your car make sure you open the hatch before you shut it off. You can not open it with a dead battery and replacing the battery from inside is a major PITA). Once I got the new battery in the left and high mounted brake lights remain on, which I'm sure is the reason the battery died to begin with. They stayed on all night so I left it on the trickle charger to not kill another battery, but can't get them to turn off. After doing some digging I saw a relationship with lights staying on and cruise control and sure enough my cruise doesn't work. The little icon will come on when I turn it on but as soon as I set a speed it flicks green then goes back to gray. This other post referenced some switch that needs to be replaced but didn't say what switch. I ran a scan guage and no codes came up at all. Any help on this?
  3. I just joined, but why can't I go back and input the repair history prior to the most recent time frame? I haven't had the car back to the dealer since I purchased it 1.5 years ago, but I don't see where that can be added to your data.
  4. I was recently lookng at the Kobalt at Lowes. They've got an 80V 21" mower that has really good reviews. It is not self propelled, but as mentioned people stated that it is so light that they don't miss it. 5 yr warranty, so what do you have to lose? Batteries are reported to last about 30 minutes, but it comes with 2 and they recharge in under 30 minutes, so you will always have one ready to swap out once the first one dies. Also much quieter than gas. I would buy one now except we are looking to relocate soon so I don't know what size I would want for my new property yet.
  5. New article in the car connection comparing the C-max to the Prius. http://www.thecarconnection.com/news/1097469_ford-c-max-vs-toyota-prius-compare-cars Spoiler alert: the C-max is the winner
  6. And with my Garmin, the hassle of it falling off the windshield, dislodging from the mount and sliding off the dash onto the floor at least once per trip.
  7. My previous Volvo S60R had a published 42.7ft circle, so the C-max is MUCH better than that car. Even with that one it was a minor inconvenience. Looking at Edmunds data the C-max is better than a Volt or Prius V, slightly worse than the base Prius.

Had this exact question when I read about it today. Anyone?
  9. I just picked up my new '14 Energi yesterday in Dallas. My local dealer didn't have any & ended up going to OKC to get one configured the way I wanted.
  10. There was a house fire in our neighborhood yesterday. My wife said she heard it was a plug-in Honda that started it. What do you bet that this won't make the news like the Volt (after crash test) and Tesla (with damaged battery pack) fires that started the lynching of plug in vehicles. The toaster testers still love them some Honda.
  11. Today hydrogen generation is expensive due to high electrical costs for standard electrolysis processes. Or you can generate it from fossil fuels, but those processes still polute. Fuel cells are also netorious for "poisoning" if the purity levels get too low. Not sure whether this generally results in cleaning, rebuilding or replacing. Now if these guys really have the goods you could put an efficient hydrogen generator right on board and run your car on water for almost nothing. http://www.solarhydrogentrends.com/
  12. I've just been noticing a lot of them on the road lately - I probably see more in a day than Cmaxes per week. So I looked at the specs - it's basically a reskinned Prius with Leather. For $3600 more than a Cmax SEL you get 54 HP less, 2/3 the cargo space, poorer fuel economy, and much less leg and head room. It looks like there are a lot of expensive options that can push the price to well north of $40k too. So what gives? Does anyone see the value proposition for the Lexus over the Max, other than having the L on the hood and likely better dealer service?
