  3. I have new in the package 2-cabin air filters, FP-70 and a set of windshield wipers, WW29-DM5Z-17528-B and WW25-DM5Z-17528-C for sale. The price for the filters is $11.58 each and the wipers for what I paid, $31.84. I'm in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. I would rather not ship these items, so anyone local who's interested, leave a short reply here and PM me so we can set up a meet.
  4. They must have renamed the EV Selector to Eco Select. It's always been there and it is how you toggle between EV, Hybrid (Auto) and ICE. I don't know why they would list that feature in the Hybrid order guide??
  5. Oops, missed the SYNC 3 upgrade. I don't know what the Eco Select is, isn't usually a gearing thing for city/highway?
  6. These were just posted on the Blue Oval Forum. It doesn't look like there are any changes other than exterior colors and a two tone seat/bolster. 2016 C-MAX Hybrid Order Guide.pdf 2016 C-MAX Color-Upholstery-Wheel Guide.pdf
  7. I bought snows last winter and it made all the difference in the world. I drove in two moderate snow falls before I could get to the tire store and the improvement was night and day. As fbov wrote, you are in for a treat.
  8. It looks like SYNC 3 comes with the 202A (and above) package.
  9. There were some early issues with both models, unfortunately that now seems to be the norm with new models and advances in technology. It seems most of the issues I've read about here and on the Energi forum have not been related to the hybrid/HVB drives, but systems every car has, like batteries and electronics. My Energi was built in 2/14 and I purchased it in 3/14, I have not had a single issue other than one simple update of the PCM. I love the car, it's the right size, comfortable and fuel efficient, I especially love driving past the gas station.
  10. Thanks, I'll dig in to that a little deeper when I have more time.
  11. I checked this morning and the open corner is to access the USB ports.
  12. I assume that's why there's a open area. There's also a small punch out on the bottom rear that a new 9 point iPhone/iPod connector will fit through. The old style won't fit through the punch out, too wide. Here's a rough sketch of the dimensions, obviously not to scale.
  13. My new tray from E-Bay/China arrived today. It's much improved over the stock tray and also better than the slightly deeper tray I got from E-Bay/China for my Escape. It says it doesn't fit the C-Max, but obviously it does. Check it out here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/221657050447?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  14. My previous post has been edited, but I still contend that 4WD defeats the purpose of a Hybrid and especially a PHEV. What sort of range did the Highlander have and was it even possible to run using battery power when towing a boat? The owner's manual states: TOWING A TRAILER Never tow a trailer with your vehicle. This powertrain is not designed to tow.
  15. A larger sized car would make it more appealing to more people. A couple of things on your list probably will never happen. You can't tow with a CVT and an all wheel drive version would take too much battery energy to move the car and reduce the battery range too much. Higher ground clearance may happen if the batteries are relocated and it will take a major redesign to include even a doughnut spare.
  16. There's always a lot of opinions and heated discussion when it comes to oil and oil changes, so I'll add mine. Every 12 months, regardless of ICE mileage. I drive 75% EV and 25% ICE. Mobil 1 0-20 Motorcraft FL-910S Drive car with ICE for 10-20 miles to heat oil Drain for 30 minutes, rocking the car a couple of times after it's drained Running ICE for a couple of minutes to check for leaks, waiting 10-15 minutes and checking level. First thing in the morning, pulling dipstick and re-checking level
  17. I tried a search and did not find any discussion on HID's. Has anyone looked in to upgrading our C-Max's with HID headlights? An install is a little beyond my comfort level, but if a kit is out there, the easy part is finding a qualified shop to install them.
  18. I haven't read all the posts, but my thoughts are that the current version of the C-Max Hybrid and Energi will continue to be around until the next gen of battery technology is introduced. New batteries will be smaller and have a greater capacity. This technology is here to stay and will only grow. My guess is the Fusion design will evolve and there will be newly designed HEV and PHEV's that may be closer in size to the Escape/MKC with the smaller sized, larger capacity batteries relocated under the car giving more cargo and passenger volume. Edit: Just finished reading all the posts and it seems I'm saying the same as a couple of others. My Energi is the perfect size, the ONLY drawback is the battery hump. I built a platform so when needed I have a flat cargo floor, but it's a hassle to get in and out and assemble and disassemble for storage. I had a 2013 Escape and like my Energi much more because of the freedom from the gas pump. I don't haul a lot of stuff, so I like the size.
  19. In January Safelight replaced mine when I was at my place in Sun City. It started as a small chip just above the parked wipers and before I knew it had spread out horizontally about 10 inches. If I recall, the price was the same as what you paid.
  20. I believe people who purchase a Hybrid or PHEV put more thought and research in to car buying. Buying a standard ICE vehicle is pretty straight forward and loyalty and emotion play a big part, I've driven Toyotas for years and I've had good luck, or, which car do I think looks the best. I knew there was an extra cost to buying an alternative fuel vehicle and for me it wasn't a case of how long until the price point breaks even, it was how much can I save now. I don't budget 5 years down the line (although I am for retirement in 2 1/2 years), I budget month to month, so how much will I save if I don't have to buy 30 to 50 gallons of gasoline a month.
  21. I think most folks still buy large SUV's because of the safety factor and sporty high performance high HP cars for the fun factor. If you can spend 40-60K on a full size SUV or Shelby GT, you can afford the fuel at any price. What I was saying is, for those of us in the middle, who can afford a nice vehicle (or at least get a loan for one), gas is just one more budget item and if that cost can be reduced, it gives us (me) more money to spend on other things. I'm sure as soon as someone farts in the Middle East, or a pipeline here bursts, gas prices will go up again. Of course, we're all ready for any increase when it comes. I still don't understand how gas prices can rise on weekends when markets are closed, anyone able to explain that??
  22. I have chrome plate holders in the back and the front because it dresses it up a bit. I took the nubs out because of the plate holder, but it rattled, so I re-installed them so the plate rests on the rubber nubs and that stopped the rattling. Regarding screws, I live in MN, the Land of Lakes and salt, so I installed stainless steel screws front and back to avoid the eventual rust streaks when the galvanization wears off.
  23. Regardless of the price of gas, it's still a good financial (and environmental) decision to own a Hybrid or PHEV. Gas may be around $2.50 for most folks (sorry West coast), but that's still money shelled out every time you go to the gas station. A fellow I work with spends over $200 a month on gas to drive 100 miles just to and from work in a F-150. Depending on how far your commute is and how many kid, errand or fun miles you drive, it's money out. In the summer with my Energi, I keep the tank between 1/4 and 1/2 and I go to the gas station every month and a half or so, that gives me more cash to spend on the things I want to buy, not need to buy.
  24. I changed mine this morning. Thanks to the pics posted by ArizonaEnergi, the job was easy and took about 10 minutes. Not the easiest install and I guess I just have to believe the filter straightened itself out once I got it in. After 13 months, the filter was gray and a little darker in spots and probably could have gone another 6-8 months, but it's a relatively cheap replacement to ensure clean air.
