  1. KT. yeah its kinda funny. Residential use of water accounts for less than 10% on average of water use. heck even commercial irrigation (landscape golf) is only about 1% while food production is about 75%. some mind boggling numbers... don't even what to think about how much water is used to make a gallon of milk.. The big "waste" from an agriculture stand point is poor quality irrigation, and "washing" of fruits/veggies, cow, chickens, ect.. a retrofit of irrigation is extremely pricey, and if we don't wash off our food while its undergoing production you run the risk of food borne illness. So while I applaud CA for putting some hard fast limits Ie drawing a line in the sand, so to speak. its not really going to be enough. They are not targeting the prime user/waster of the water. While its nice to paint the picture of golf courses water the turf or homeowners wasting water by taking long showers or washing their cars, the gains to be made are on the industrial/agriculture side of things... http://www.treehugger.com/clean-technology/how-many-gallons-of-water-does-it-take-to-make.html
  2. if a person buys a new manual, and then decides to resell it. no worries.. Autozone- they most likely have purchased the factory manuals or at the very least authorized updates. personally I have access to Alldata... which many shops have purchased subscriptions to.. In theory. since I have access to alldata I could PDF the entire information and offer it for sale. that, however would be illegal... for instance- this DVD would be a legitmate purchase...IMO. its not a pirated copy, and I have to assume that the buyer legally acquired the disc however, this auction http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-2002-Ford-Complete-Factory-Service-Manuals-Repair-Manual-OEM-/171593554854?hash=item27f3c5dba6&vxp=mtr Would lead me to believe that the owner is burning copies of an original disc from ford or other company, or dumping the data from a program like Alldata and making packaging it so it can be available.... just my 2 cents... that's all... everyone is entitled their own opinions..
  3. I stand corrected on it being a ford owned site...maybe its just sponsored byt the blue oval, or at the very least funded. In either case. this site is a pretty cheap way to learn more about your vehicle... and promoting buying software pirated from the site funder (if the site is funded by ford) seems like a good way to upset a sponsor or make them pull their factory rep from the site... Saying its ford responsibility to ensure that their product is not used illegally is tantamount to saying its Ford fault that they make a car that can exceed the posted speed limit and as such when you get a ticket for speeding you can blame them....
  4. not to be a downer... but being this is a ford sponsored site, should we be talking about buying pirated copies of the ford service manual...
  5. I like the back up sensors as well. for me when its solid tone I have 12" to go... Still wish I had the camera, but I learned to backup using mirrors and turning my head so as long as theys till work I'm OK Seems its going to be a lost art in the near future.. :)
  6. then a SEL 301a is what I have... oops...
  7. No it doesn't.... it depends on which package SEL you got whether or not you got a BU camera. I have an SEL I think its a 302 package with no BU camera, but I do have the back up sensors It would be nice if the wires were in place... I think the only way to check if the wires were in place is to take a part some of the interior rear hatch...
  8. in all honesty, you' really not supposed to try to park in a diagonal spot pointing the other direction. go to the end of the street whip a U and then park. but also a three point turn isn't hard to do. Pretty amazing the people WE elect.
  9. 62... I have zero actually less than zero knowledge about audio systems... I just have acess to alldata for digrams and such. so thats why I jumped in the thread...
  10. if you need the wiring diagrams shoot me a PM with you email and I'll get you the PDF
  11. bought my 2013 used about a year ago. have put a little over 10K miles. its the SEL but no NAV car has only seen the inside of the dealer shop for the Seat back recall. Otherwise 100% trouble free. just did a 2500 hiway trip from Dc to florida and back. averaged 40mpg... fulle loaded up cruising between 65-75. Nav is nice. but U've been using my iphone with blue tooth enabled for my maps/directions. with the holder right were the CD slot is. well with in reach, and close to a power cord. don't be afraid to look further away for a deal on a car. I drove nearly a hundred miles to mine. you might be able to find a used 2014 demo SEL or a deal loaner car for cheap. I agree with the others though in that buy what you want. power seats, leather, ect. no fun getting in a car every day that you compromised on...
  12. the frustrating part, that the size limitations isn't the roof line, but the hatch opening. Maybe if the hatch had an opening similar to that of a doge magnum..
  13. cold showers, very refreshing when its 100* outside... not so much when its 15-20* and when you are conserving water while showering with a significant other... cold water causes "shrinkage" not very conducive to a fun atmosphere.. :) we are a family of three one being a teenager, and my folks come visit from time to time... so cold water or lukewarm water. is not really an option... I'm doingmy part. two hybrids, and 90% of my home is lit with LED lights... High seer furnace/ac unit... low e glass in house...
  14. 30x30x62 Adrian, I have been looking at tankless and have been considering.. but the difference in yearly operating was only $40... the flow rate was very low as well to get that high efficiently rating. While a tankless may show a higher flow of 9-10gpm, it needs to burn hotter which burns more gas, so to be more efficient it flows slower. so no more than one shower at a time... plus, it only guarantees a 35* temp increase. which means in the winter time our shower may only get to 85-90* and there are other drawbacks on both sides of the equation. I have a maintenance closet which houses my Furnace and hot water heater, so any space savings is moot as I would not intend to store anything in the vacated space. too many drawbacks right now... IMO to go tankless...
  15. box got hauled away today but when I get home I'll measure the dimensions of the hatch openening. pretty much floor to ceiling with about 2" on either side to spare. and from the back of the front seat to the back edge of the carpet... I think someone elsy got a washer/drier in side the c-max...
  16. I almost took my wifes saturn since its a smidge larger... I'm glad the cardboard would "give a little" otherwise it would not have fit..
  17. Steve, I agree that the Cmax is a European design... http://carleasingmadesimple.com/business-car-leasing/ford/c-max/turning-circle/ the British C-max has a turning circle of 11 meters kerb to kerb... or about 33 feet... which is smaller than the posted at cars .com... ?????
  18. Navy. I asked the same question.... here was my response Dear Mr. Smith, Vehicles that qualify for clean special fuel plates are approved by the Environmental Protection Agency. Once they notify DMV, the vehicle list is updated, DMV doesn't make the determination. I hope this helps. Thank you for visiting www.dmvnow.com.
  19. my wifes Saturn Vue turns like a bus... my HHR and Prius felt much easier getting into the garage than the C-max and drivinga round the parking garage at work the C-max feels larger than it is in tight parking lots.... this is one failing that US car makers seems to have that our european bretheren have mastered...the tight turning radius... http://www.cars.com/ford/c-max-hybrid/2013/specifications Vue 20 Cmax 19 HHR 18 Pruis 17..
  20. The e-races were pretty neat... yeah the F-1 cars are not as loud as they once were... but the racing is still enjoyable...(getting up at zero dark thirty to watch live Not so much)
  21. Well Sometime Saturday my hot water heater gave up the ghost and wifey did not notice until 2am when she went downstairs to a squishy carpet... So off to home depot. for a new 50 gallon hot water heater... the gate would not close but was only about 4" from latching
