  1. so is there any real reason to "lower" it I'm thinking leave it be...
  2. probably closer to 13K miles.. it was cloudy, 60's over cast and some rain heading north for the first half of the trip. coming home was sunny and mid 70's I was by myself, but had an easy up, chair, folding table, one of my model boats, clothes, tools, extra 12v battery, cooler, ice, beverages. probably 2-300lbs of gear from Dc to Ohio. there are a few hills to cross... which probably explains some of the lower mpg numbers... I love the eco cruise...
  3. ok I'm convinced that the dealer installed the front plate bracket in the wrong location... see th epics... is there a prefered location for the plate... shoudl I move it down or should I move the bracket UP to become a bit of a grille blocker. or should I mount it in the lower grille (partial grill blocker). I know I'd have to "fold" the edges of the plate to make it fit. Local constables probably would not like it too much...
  4. Did a small weekend trip to Painesville OH this week, 909.2 total miles 20.9 gallons pumped just did a 0w20 oil change and bumped the tires up to 45 psi. outbound set the eco cruise at 60 and camped out inthe right lane, and tried to hold around 65 on the way home. had about 50 miles of "around town" type driving on the highway outbound my indicated fuel use was 11.32 but I pumped 12.31 gallons... coming home when I topped off the tank it was 8.4 indicated but I pumped 8.6 43.5 mpg...not too bad IMO Withthe tires at 45 it wasn't uncomfortable, but expansion joints and cracks were noticable... Wish the armrest on the right was a bit longer...
  5. I noticed today too that the cavern stays cool. must be becasue of the rear ac ducts...
  6. Ipaid 18900 for my 2013 cmax with 11Kk miles last month... I'm thanking the person in MD who bought it new and took the resale hit for me but if you want a car with good resale you need to buy a lincoln, caddy, honda, toyota, acura, or a lexus. love the car. much nicer than my 2010 prius iv... the prius has the similar issues ICE needs a warmup but all cars have these simialr issues... bad MPG in winter (all cars) its fuel related Bad MPG when AC is on (all cars) bad MPG in wind (all cars) bad MPG in rain (all cars) bad MPG when you drive it like you stole it... the one thing ford is guilty of is not following the rules for proper EPA fuel MPG testing... FWIW my toyota 2010 prius iv that was totaled with 50K miles got me an insurance check for 19,400 not too bad. but I bought it used for 16750... I like the ford I wish nav was standard on all SEL's waste of a big screen... and mytouch had applink... so far those are my biggest gripes...
  7. just did a trip from DC to Cleveland. all highway average speed of 60mph 46 mpg should hit 600miles on only my 3rd tank keep the checks coming...
  8. at least our fords have an aston martinish grille.... about as close as I'll ever get...
  9. mine was 66 GBP shipped or about 110 bucks... and I had it in 3 days... hard to beat that coming across th epond...
  10. Paul. I did OK...on the application. one side looks better than the other. not sure if I can pull it off and reapply. the adhesive tape is very aggressive... if I were to do it again....I'l leave the film on the rear portion of the protector to get the leading edge applied first and then pull the film off from the bottom some how... once the tape stuck tot he clean bumper its game over... Not sure how much I can do with the heat gun. don't want to melt the bumper...
  11. 45 is as far as I'm willing to go from a comfort standpoint...
  12. bumped pressure to 45 for my drive from DC to Mentor OH... 330 miles 46mpg average.. ride wasn't too bad...
  13. He's just a greedy SOB... Can't say I blame him... :)
  14. probably ride comfort.... the harder the tire the harsher the ride...
  15. arizona....neat mod.... easy too.... is the black shelf a stock item?
  16. +1 on the turning radius... not sure why european and asian cars get this, but american cars do not...bigger is not always better. I'd love to be able to add engine gauges to the right hand side of the speedo. really growing leaves. how about an average speed on the trip guage... while I miss the storage under the flying bridge on the prius... the cup holders on the ford are nice as are the door pockets, the center console is too deep, but I like being able to keep ipod and usb plugged in and out the way..
  17. rebecca, any idea why ford decied to "down-grade" MFT and not support applink??? seems pretty counterintuitive to offer an audio system with touch screen that serves as a main control area but not have it as functional as the base model... had I known I might have opted for a non SEL model just to save some $$$ and get a better functioning audio system.
  18. snow. great job. where in VA are you... I leave for ohio on thursday. looking at interstate most of the way to cleveland...
  19. I'm at 42 now......and it bearable.. but I feel/hear all the road imperfections... on the prius with the 15" wheels the tire had more sidewall so it was a bit more tolerable... I guess I could pump them up a bit more before my trip from VA to Ohio and see if I can tell.
  20. 50psi cold. I can't imagine what it would be when warm. I woudl think the ride would fairly harsh and you'd feel every crack and expansion joint...
  21. Frank, I was thinking about something along those lines...I have some grey seatbelt material, and maybe a "D" ring at the seat lever. so It "looks" factory...
  22. Anyone else miss the ability to lower the rear seats from the cargo area? Minor annoyance. I know, but being the cargo area is small enough you coudl lean in from the rear and flip a lever and fold them forward.
  23. Like: Cavernous cargo area... Dislike: no way to lower the rear seats from the cargo area...
