Thanks for the description. A bit upset they are doing such a major repair twice in six months. This is one of those things that is rare to need replacement on a car with 48 K miles much less twice. I expect Ford should do more than say oops and tear the car down again. Don't flame me. I appreciate that it is under warranty. my concern is there is an underlying reason. the repair being done is treating the sympton not correcting the problem and in six months it will go out again. :)

I had the rear main replaced under warranty 5 months ago. Had an oil change found rear main leaking again. It has been only 5 months. Getting out of hand now with all the recalls and now the need to pull the engine and transmision for a second time. Love CMAX but this is a real problem! lt is warranty covered. I have 58k on the car.

worked for me. Dont freak when the screen goes black for a bit two or three times. :)

Thanks for the clarification. Seems Ford could do the same since it allows you to also upadate version history on the my Ford site. May just give it a go

swonder why the Fusion has an update that you can download but not CMAX. If you do the Fusion update will it show in your My Ford site? If it goes sideways are you stuck or will Ford tech help you out. Seems it is taking a long long time for the update even though Ford has said my vin neds the update.

Seems if there were a defect and rollout was paused you would think it would be nice just to let you know rather than getting a message your ptoduct is up to date when its not :)

Is Ford actally going to update the list or are we waiting for an update that really is not going to happen?

I had the sqeek. Drove me nuts. My 2013 CMAX SEL needed the rear main seal to be replaced. They had to drop the trans and engine. After they put it back together (6 monrhs or so) no more squeek. Seems odd but true.

I checked today and they are still trying to get my car on the update list. doesn't seem it should be that hard to put in a vin number.

iI searched but didnt find. Not a mechanically minded and feel a bit dumb asking but here goes. Does the CMAX hybrid have an electric motor on each wheel and a larger electric motor used with the ICE? thanks in advance!

original poster stated that the cabin filter had never been changed and I didn't see whrer he corrected that. I know at about 25k I changed mine and it needed it. :)

I had the recall done yesterday. I did not receive the letter saying the part was now in. I had to follow up and call the dealer. the dealers receptioness tried to tell me the car would have to come in for a diagnostic before the recall could be done so they would be assured Ford would cover the part replacement. Took ten minutes going around with her until she checked with managment then finally she set up the appointment all seems fine now. job is finally done.

I had the same issue and it drove me nuts. My CMAX went in for an oil change and the dealership found the rear main seal was leaking ( that is a benefit for dealer service if they, as Kendall Ford in Eugene Or has). To do the repair the engine and trans mission are removed. after the car was repaired i have not heard any niose whatsoever. seems maybe its caused by a shim or maybe the torque on a bolt. Not the way to get rid of a noise but seems I was looking in vain at all the wrong causes. wish you well. it is a big deal!

That's really nasty. You probably got it right your first attempt. will be sure to check my seat heaters if they should ever get the part for my car thanks for the heads up!
