Thank you for the update. Use the unit to adjust tire pressure and never noticed. Went out and took a look. Mine is missing but there is a really low tec pair of gloves.

I cannot find out how to mute radio when listening to music. Forgive me if this has been addressed but search only led to phone mute. Thanks!

Hi. I got the letter a week or so ago. There is a thread started on this. The thread is titled 15b04

ETIS shows wrong description of our cars in a whole lot of cases. Says mine is 2014 Energy when in fact it is 2013 Hybrid. If you search this site you will find a ton of posts with wrong descriptions. Seems a lot of descriptions were changed all at once.

Taxes, diesel vehicles and disposal fees extra. Hybrid battery test excluded. See participating dealership for exclusions and details. So tire rotation and all the other extras for less than $39. When I had the last oil change they saw seepage but didn't know from where so they added the dye. No charge and I have 48K on the car. Took it back a couple weeks later and they checked the dye and found it was rear seal. Gave me a loaner. No charge. Replaced the rear main seal. No charge and gave me a free car wash. Changing my own makes no sense for me. :)

Thanks for the update. Sounds like it may not be required if you have not experienced a battery problem.

Oregon had strong rebates at one time. Now, after giving out millions in tax credits, the state wants Oregonians to put tracking devices in our cars so we pay by the mile rather than the gallon because they claim fuel taxes have fallen because of nasty people like me who drive a hybrid. They now claim we don't pay our fair share because we get so many more mpg.

WOW. Thought there would be more interest on this.

Hi. The car is a C-Max 2013 SEL with 48,000 miles. I drive 50% town 50% freeway never over 65. Glad my dealer found the bad seal after an oil change. Good reason to have a good dealership do the maintenance. They found seepage and added dye. FORD COVERED IT 100% under the drivetrain warranty and they provided me with a rental. Great service!

Thanks for the photo. Got the car back after rear main seal replaced. No problems with it at all was worried about rattles and squeaks after this major repair. Dealer did a great job!

Hi. My cmax is also referred to as 2014 Energy when in fact it is a 2013 Hybrid. Mine is also listed as needing this recall. What exactly is it going to do that would be a benefit. My battery has been fine except when parked with radio on and car in accessory mode it gives the warning and turns everything off. Listed as customer satisfaction. Anyone know? Thanks for posting. Haven't looked at the Etis site in a while. Just got my car out of Ford shop a few days ago for a leaking rear main. They didn't mention this recall

They removed the transmission and the engine. I was curious how the took it out. Thanks for the quick post!

To remove the engine to replace rear crankshaft seal do they unbolt the body and lower the frame etc.? Thanks!!

Thank you for giving this your attention. Kendall Ford did a great job diagnosing and solving the problem. The issue turns out to be tires that had developed flat spots. Purchased four new tires and an alignment. The thump thump thump is now gone. Transmission is fine!! Thank you Meagan. Could not have asked for any better service! I doubt any other car company would reach out as quickly as you have!!

Hi how do you know if your 2013 cmax has this transmission listed on service buliton. Reference HF35. I have a thumping sound like that of a flat tire at most any speed. Thanks

Really not that hard to do. The video is worth the few minutes to watch and learn. Got mine at the dealer for $20. Checking the engine air filter is really a giant pain!
