  1. Sometimes I feel like we live in Siberia instead of Canada. We have Sirius and don't get travel links or weather information. What a rip off. We used to be able to pick up traffic in Washington State and even that has disappeared. We have 30 million people so one would think we could get these features. But we have the most expensive cell phone service here too as we only have a couple of providers. The good things are a nice laid back way of life. LOL.
  2. Oh my goodness how sweet and wonderful! Oh so much better than any photos of cars. Do we know who papa is? It looks like some pups are white and some look like mom who is a Boxer I am thinking. Thanks for posting Shelly.
  3. I am wondering when you all got the MFT upgrade and new SD card, did streets and businesses get updated? Our info. seems pretty outdated, but we don't have the upgrade.
  4. Rachel sorry to hear about Rainette! I'm glad they eventually saw the light and gave the loaner as that would have been asinine not to do that on their part. I would have been picketing them if they refused. Years ago I bought a new Skoda (I know kind of a crazy thing to do LOL) and some of that oil protection stuff that they coat cars with on ships got spilled inside my new car and it had fumes that made me sick. They did give me a loaner while they tried to get rid of the smell. They couldn't get rid of it and said I would have to live with it. I said "I want a new car" and they said no. I told them fine then I would just keep the loaner. They went silent and hung up. Got a phone call in a few hours saying they had a new car for me. I think they thought I was bonkers LOL.
  5. Thanks for that recipe Adair. I can buy "horse" apples by the box here for about $4. Many varieties available of bruised apples which would be perfect for your recipe. I have a dutch oven by Kitchen Aid that is very heavy so perhaps that will work as my slow cooker. Thanks for the offer of sending a jar of apple butter. You are more of an optimist than me. Once we sent for a wee part for our fridge from Florida and it seemed to go missing. Canada Post put a trace on it and found it and sent it to us. We burst out laughing as they had repackaged it, but the original package had tire tracks on it and the part was squished flat. It was very comical that they even bothered to send it and show the public what can happen to goods in the postal system.LOL
  6. It is very easy to mash the button without knowing it which is a little puzzling as when you want to roll them down when you are walking up to the car, you have to hold the button for awhile for it to work. But for sure mine have gone down when I leaned against a fence rail while standing by the car with the fob in my pocket against the rail.
  7. Why not? I have accidently reset my 3 times. Does it really matter? Once I have the upgrades for MFT and FE done in October, I probably will reset lifetime again. Seems fiddly to just use the tank and trip stats.
  8. Adair I was just looking up apple butter recipes and it looks like a slow cooker/crock pot is used. Is that what you use? Thanks.
  9. I love apple butter. It is quite hard to find it in Canada--yet it is hugely popular in the States. I have never made it but maybe I will try this Fall as it is so good. I once made kosher dill pickles with my Jewish neighbour. She and I had never made pickles before so it was a fool's mission. We picked our cucumbers and for whatever reason we decided to make 100 quarts each. They were just awful!! And seemingly we had followed her mom's recipe. We laughed down the road, but were devastated with our disaster. They all looked so pretty too.LOL
  10. Thanks Adair! It sounds like you will be laboring hard LOL. Yummy stuff will be filling your larder. I just baked two apple pies with Gravenstein apples. They are great for pies and hard to find now days.
  11. I'll go with Aliens as it happens to both me and my husband. LOL But we will both pay more attention and see if it is operator error. Thanks for your idea.
  12. Does anyone have the experience of leaving your gauge set for empower and then when you next drive the car the gauge is on engage? This happens all the time for us and is annoying. We haven't done any of the updates yet--not doing them until October when car is due for servicing.
  13. Homestead you are on the money! You don't need to join Luminosity.com. LOL So many Americans don't get the calculation. Since Canada went metric multi years ago, my brain works double time always. i.e. If I drive out to see a friend who is 70 kilometers away, I do the conversion automatically to miles Same with the fuel economy, and same with the navigation system when she says turn in 600 meters I am converting that. It sure fills my head up with crap! The young folks who only grew up with metric don't have the same struggle. Having my brain filled with superfluous info. is the reason I am joining Luminosity.com LOL.
  14. I have accidently reset mine twice so it is very easy LOL.
  15. Ours is 5.4 L per 100 kilometers and we have 6100 kilometers on her since November 2012. I won't convert for you all as you can do it instead of having to join Luminosity.com LOL
  16. What is the purpose please? Can one still see lights on when you have your tail lights on?
  17. Nick I agree there is Ford bashing happening, but why isn't Ford on top of this? They could do a fairly cost effective media blitz with interviews from C-Max owners who are thrilled with their cars. Even get bloggers onto this.
  18. I agree that it was a re-hash of the same old story, but I think these stories coming out in magazines like Forbes is important for the consumer. Keeps big business on their toes. I think it is on Ford's shoulders now to publish info or encourage writers to look at the new improvements they have made for fuel economy. They totally have the capability to interview happy upgrade owners and do a media blitz with those stories. It's not going to happen though as there is some intrinsic problem at the top at Ford is my guess or Ford wouldn't be in its current pickle.
  19. Salsaguy sorry about calling you a bad name LOL. I love new cars too so can understand why you want one for your wife.
  20. That is very upbeat news Slampro! Glad she got a new job. Have you considered buying a used C-Max? I wouldn't hesitate to buy a low mileage one. I always cringe at how much new cars cost and then they depreciate the moment they are off the lot. There may be few people trading in for new ones when the 2014's come out. But then again maybe your cutie wants new only.
  21. http://www.edmontonjournal.com/mobile/sports/news/Photos+defends+tournament+title/8831628/story.html?&img=6 She is a sweet looking girl, and her she is with some of our guys in red serge.
  22. Well Jus, Adam Scott did it again! Congratulations to him for winning the Barclays :happy feet: Are you going to have a new avatar :camera: ??
  23. We don't have that feature in Canada. i.e. traffic notifications. Sounds like a great feature. Asb did it always work before? Is this related to an update? Since it is Sirius that provides the travel info., wouldn't it be Sirius broadcasting the alternative route thus it is a Sirius problem? Just wondering how it all works.
  24. I have something similar to C-Maxgo, but I have an older mutt who is not in the same energy realm as two busy beagles.
