  1. I know black leather is a deal breaker for me. Hubby's SUV had black leather which he loved and I hated. I did notice that one Vancouver dealer had a car with the cream leather like we have and it sold quickly. I think it is more often men that love black leather. I did notice Tdefny that all of the unsold cars had black leather and pano roof too.
  2. I am wondering if it basically is a roll bar type situation? Maybe it was strongly reinforced in the cars with panorama roof and that they did less reinforcing in the regular roof. I can't imagine this comes down to lack of padding so it has to be structural.
  3. I am thinking that this is going to impact in a big way. If dealers cannot sell cars without the repair being done first, it is a serious issue. And this serious issue relates to safety of human beings so it seems logical to me that Ford is going to have to order all these problem cars off the road. It makes no sense to allow people to drive these cars in case an accident happens and someone is killed because of inadequate padding or whatever is missing. So if that letter that was posted is legitimate, I think we will be seeing more drastic action.
  4. Oh dear! What a big pain in the butt for those that don't have the glass roof. I am thinking there are probably more without the glass roof than those that bought it. I'm glad we have the glass roof as I think hubby is getting discouraged reading about all the MFT upgrade issues and if we had to go in for the roof, he probably would sell our car. I just read through that recall letter again, and this is dreadful news for Ford. No parts available yet to do the recall and dealers not being allowed to sell those cars without repairs to them. I won't be surprised to read down the road that our panorama roofs have some issue as well since they mention a certain pillar in the car. Very sad for all of us. I guess the dealerships must have heard this long ago and this does explain why there haven't been any C-Max ads. I wonder when the media will jump on this situation?
  5. If you read under the heading Ordering, Buying and Leasing and go to Order delivery time thread by Scooter, it has tons of info. on tips of tracking your car.
  6. I was afraid to ask how it went wab--good news, hip hip hooray!
  7. I'm a day late, but I hope your Birthday was a memorable and happy one.
  8. Fred this is all puzzling and upsetting. Good luck with finding solutions and please let us know what happens.
  9. Looks good to me Adair. The names have been changed to protect the innocent. How many remember that phrase from Dragnet?
  10. Good comments Noah. Maybe Adair should go and edit her first post to protect him. Hey Adair what do you think?
  11. Boy did we all have some nice cars! Look at us now--driving around in stealth mode, talking away asking directions from a computer, trying to get the best mileage possible. Times have changed for sure.
  12. There must be some insulation covering the computer system that has been left out of your car. How is that for a non scientific idea?
  13. Is Jelly Bean all calm cool and collected or is he all melty and hot?
  14. Good luck wab!! A guy with a laptop that travels specifically for the job should have it down pat eh?
  15. This area of Canada is called Lotusland and the Prius is huge. I wonder if we are battling all the imports which are hugely popular here on the West Coast. We have Toyotas, Nissans, Kias, Acuras etc. coming out the whazoo around here. Up country pickups are huge and Ford is a big seller of those and Chevy is popular for pickups too.
  16. I find it a real puzzle. We're in the Lower Mainland and I would have thought the C-Max would have sold like hot cakes. We finally saw our first one last week, and it was the first and only one sold by the dealer that I posted the inventory of. Our C-Max is the first and only one sold at our dealership and that was in November! I'm like you and see quite a few Fusion Hybrids. Maybe people aren't liking the styling of the C-Max?? I quite like it, but my husband is luke warm on the styling so maybe he is typically Canadian in taste. My husband just said he thinks it is lack of advertising. This is sad as soon it will be impossible to move the 2013's as everyone will want to wait for a 2014. I know that there is an electric Focus sitting at our dealership and I think it's been there over a year and the price keeps dropping. Here is the inventory of the local dealer of 2012 Focus Electric--none have been sold. http://apps.dealerconnection.com/dealers/dams/new-inventory?lang=en#modelid=226&filters=All/All/All/All//10/BodyDesc/1/0&fps=true
  17. Not to flog a dead horse, but C-Max Hybrids don't appear to be selling well in my neck of the woods. I have to wonder why the dealers aren't advertising them. So I am wondering what is going to happen to all of these unsold C-Maxes? This is a look at dealer inventory about six blocks from where I live. Those cars have been sitting there at least 2- 3 months without a sale. http://apps.dealerconnection.com/dealers/oceanparkford/new-inventory?lang=en#modelid=285&filters=All/All/All/All//10/BodyDesc/1/0&fps=true I wonder if they will ship them back to the States?
  18. Oh! That makes better sense now ie him wanting a Tesla and kicking the C-Max to the curb.
  19. We get our best mileage on our freeways (about 57 mpg) but our speed limit is 100 kilometers per hour which is about 60 mph. How fast are you going? I can stay in EV much of the time at about 97 kph.
  20. Val all that makes sense, but won't the MFT be similar to what it is now? i.e. some improvements but the glitches likely won't be totally ironed out and will drive you nuts. I did see a photo of a 2014 prototype and it was pretty cool looking.
  21. Interesting comments jmckinley. We aren't going for the upgrade until October so I will have to wait to assess it. I want the dealer to get experience under his belt before we risk our car to possible problems.
  22. Well I am glad you are here even if you are unhappy. We need to hear about the bad experiences along with the good ones. I think maybe a Tesla would be the dream car for you Val.
  23. I'm glad things worked out! Can you explain what you mean different brake and accelerator response? Thanks.
  24. It's summer time and the living is easy--no problem at all. Take your time. Thanks for working on this for us.
