There's good news and there's bad news
Laurel replied to erwhitham's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
erwhitham I think it will all be good. We don't have the upgrade and ours works well 99% of the time. We have had a couple of entry of data glitches like you mention over the past six months, but they all have resolved when we have turned the car off and gone back to it the next morning. I always got the impression that somehow the system was getting overloaded at that particular moment when we couldn't enter what we were trying to enter. Sure will be nice to have the outside temp. more visible. Wish there was a way to save all the favourites and then download them instead of re-entering everything all over again. -
We have had this twice. I think it is actually the system crashing and re-organizing itself. Our system has always worked well before and after. I don't have the 3.5.1 yet (waiting until Oct. to get it when maybe all the bugs are worked out).

I'm thinking his Energi has gone the same place as Jimmy Hoffa. He hasn't checked in since the big screw up with his dealership and he was pretty fed up and disillusioned.

I think you should take it in to be fixed. We live in a rain forest climate and our wipers are without smears or any problems over the past six months. Thank goodness.

Stuff doesn't fall off my glove box shelf anymore! :)

Clever idea! -
There is a regular short run to the grocery store that I do and coming home with warm car it is 2.6 L for 2.6 km. (90 US mpg). Generally those short hops just kill our mileage going out before the car is warm and going to the store it will be 9.8 L. We are routinely getting 4.0 L on long hops now, but the short hops we do are more frequent and that keeps our lifetime from improving beyond 5.3 L.

We have the SEL and we love all the features--especially the back up camera, panorama roof, adjustable seats. The SE will be great too. Congratulations.

Thanks Rachel. I'll try it out.

Noah that was Mi-C. They said they had it in to the dealership and this occurred. (not sure if any of what she wrote about addressed the save power coming on while driving and them losing power while driving). "UPDATE- picked up our C-Max just now. Here's info for everyone on what was found, done ... When I first posted, we had to wait until morning to take car to Dlr, but totally dead 12v Batt & had to tow it in to Dlr Fri, 6/7. We had a chance to speak with one of the 'hybrid' mechanics, told him details. Picked it up today: 1) Dlr put on charger- not hold a charge, New Batt #BXT-67R installed; 2) "perform 13A01 Sync w MFT update recall with NAV"; 3) "perform 13B06 rear gate trunk module reprogram- rgtmodule per recall". FYI- in mailbox on arriving home Ford envelope "Important Svc Notice" and inside were "Customer Satisfaction Program xx" letter for both #'s 2) & 3) above. Ref 13A01: Software update v3.5-includes all improvements from previous updates includes following improvements: simplified phone pairing process; enhanced voice recognition performance; improved sound quality; simplified voice commands for radio and USB -connected audio players; enhanced voice and screen destination entry for vehicles equipped with navigation; updated Bluetooth device/Sync compatibility; outside air temperature display on the 8-inch touchscreen; new 'EV Info" button on home screen that will take you to a Powerflow Screen that shows energy flow information. Ref 13B06: says ?what is the issue? Hands free lift gate opening feature may exhibit intermittent condition where it does not fully open the lift gate during a hands-free (foot gesture) opening attempt; ?what will ford dealer do? Ford authorized Dlr to reprogram the Rear Gate Trunk Module free of charge (parts & labor)... This customer satisfaction program will be in effect until May 31, 2014 regardless of mileage. coverage is automatically transferred to subsequent owners." Our C-Max was 'born' July, 2012, and has 302A package plus option sunroof. (we have handsfree trunk/ hatch rear gate.) And I will add our details to the POLL questions re batt thread to contribute data for benefit of all. I will post updates as we see how the "fixes" pan out. FWIW, we also spent the weekend scouting for alternative vehicles in case we ultimately have to give up on this Cmax, too. Thanks to everyone who replied to our 1st posting here - and for all who contribute to various topics on this C-Max forum-- we also spent quite a lot of time while our C was in for repair reading lots! Of good-to-know info from other C owners. THANKS to all!! Report

Adair it is not new. It happened from day one and we just forgot about it as we rarely sit and listen to the radio. I forgot all about bringing it up at the dealership when we were in for our six month check up. I will just make sure it is on the list for October when we go in unless something else comes up in the interim. We have a well functioning car overall, but I do think that are bugs that are serious and haven't been addressed. And I still think it is very odd that the C-Maxes aren't selling here. One dealer is three blocks away and has had six sitting there for months, and our dealership has yet to sell another one since we bought ours in November. Now that could be signs of a bad economy, but it seems weird to me. Like someone knows something we don't.

I think that there will be a major recall. Just a gut feeling that I have. We get the power save message to turn off the car if we try to listen to the radio. Too many weird electrical things going on for a recall not to happen. No C-Maxes on the road here in Western Canada and we are in the heartland of hybrids and bicycle paths. I can go for a drive and see a least half a dozen Prius cars and I have never seen another C-Max.

asb there is a thread with pictures under Accessories and Modifications on sunshades. I just ordered an Introtech roll up one on ebay. I don't have it yet.

I have been looking daily to see if Valkraider has reported back in concerning whether the dealership has fixed his issues, but I haven't seen anything. Val you are one of are most valued members and I miss seeing you post. I hope all is well with you.

How do you operate the Sirius replay? I have pushed the replay button, but nothing seems to happen. Thanks.

SEL owners, check your FOB
Laurel replied to Laurel's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
We had no keys in our FOB's and it took someone on the forum to mention to check it out for us to notice too. I think there is a wee slot under the door handle that the key fits into. Without the keys if the car won't start you can't get inside. Our dealership seemed surprised and in denial at first, but they got the keys ordered fairly quickly. I think they just used our VIN to put in the order. -
Back to the drawing board.....the saga continues...
Laurel replied to Adair's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Adair I thought it involved the 3.5.1 but no matter about that, your situation is sure puzzling. Surely they have run into this before somewhere in Ford world? -
That is reassuring. Keep the Chronicles coming.

Thank You Ford for the 3.5.1 and Liftgate!
Laurel replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Good advice Jus. I doubt whether my service assist reps. would tell me about how they are doing with the upgrades, but when I bought my C-Max I did meet the service manager and he seemed nice. So in September, I will go in and ask to speak with him directly before I book. Since we are their one and only C-Max sold, I think there will be no other installations done in the C-Max but I gather other models are needing the 3.5.1 upgrades so if I wait until September as some of them should have been upgraded by then. -
Thank You Ford for the 3.5.1 and Liftgate!
Laurel replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Jus is your new 3.5.1 still doing fine? No bugs? Ask your tech if he will hire out to various dealers around North America to install 3.5.1 for all of us LOL. Maybe Ford will think of this and send him out on the road to help all the dealerships. Vancouver, BC. could be first on his list and we will give him room and board and let him use Tip. -
Park Assist: Thumbs Way Up!
Laurel replied to ScubaDadMiami's topic in Brakes, Chassis, Park Assist & Suspension
We have had a few posts over the past months on the park assist. One fellow forgot to put his foot on the brake and yikes had a major fender bender. I love our park assist, but got heart palpitations the first couple of times I tried it and got an attack of the nervous giggles. -
Jus I meant android as in a robot. I was teasing. I guess the term android is used more now in defining phones? I am no techno whiz like you.

Adair I see that Monarch59 posted about his dead battery saying he needed some sort of cooling pump replaced. I know you don't have dead battery issues, but just wondering if a faulty cooling pump might be affecting your MFT system? Grasping at straws maybe, but I just wonder.
-
My fingers are crossed Adair. All of us first year buyers will eventually get everything working tickety boo. Tip has been very lucky (knocking on wood here), but I am dragging my heels on doing the upgrades. Tip was just in for her six month check and isn't due to go back until October so I may just wait until then for the MFT and tail gate upgrades. Our navigation etc is working fine and I don't want to rock the boat. Let them get all the bugs worked out first. I don't mind kicking twice until then.
