My dealership had my car from late afternoon, May 13 until midday May 15. Started work on the 14th and kept it overnight to check for electric drain. So actual work was done on 14th and 15th.
-
Results: Dealership performed TSB -13-5-1 reprogramming DC/DC module, cleared all DTC's. After recharging the battery, the dealership kept the car overnight to test for power loss from battery. It passed all test. Picked up the car today. So for, so good.

When your C-Max is back at the dealer for a dead battery problem or some other issue that a new car should not be having, what is your experience as to who pays for the car you use while the work is going on?
-
Thanks. Can you supply me with something I can use to prove I need a new battery?
-
Well, it has happened to me. Dead 12 V battery. Background facts: C-Max acquired end of 2012 year, 2,100 miles, not driven for seven days, then driven two days for short trips. Following morning, would not start. Everything dead. Called AAA for jump, got it started, took it to dealer. Dealer has recharged the 12 V and is keeping car overnight to see if there are any electrical drains. What do you think?

I opened my hood and was shocked at the amount of tree debris that had accumulated. Looks like a vacuum cleaner job. Any better ideas out there?

What cool hidden feature have you discovered about your C-Max?

I put plastic cards in it such as car wash and park entrance., etc. -
Roger, thanks for doing this. I've been trying to get my Ford dealer to show me a C-Max up on a lift so that I can be sure of the exact location of the jack point in case I need to find it at night. So far, no luck with dealer.

I HAVE FOUND THE ILLUSIVE MPG SWEET SPOT!

Well, to add my two cents worth, I drove from Washington, DC (Bethesda,Md) to the Skyline drive today. Out and back on I 66. Up and down the Skyline Drive. 30-35 MPH on Drive, 60 on interstate. Used the button on the gearshift lever to slow on downward sides of mountains and ECO on the interstate. Got 55 MPH going out and 51 coming back--more traffic. Temperature in the 30s on the mountains, 40s going out on I 66 and 50s coming back. -
By any chance did you buy your C-Max from Lindsay Ford in Wheaton? I did and would like to compare notes.

Very nice adaptation!

I think restarting or rebooting, if you prefer, is a good idea -- like our PCs. It would be nice to hear from Ford engineers on this.

My dealer has the same offer and I took them up on it. I don't drive a lot of miles so am more concerned about time between changes.
-
I have to agree--it dose seem quieter. I was wondering if the more informed among us were excluded after Ford staff made the most recent change to this blog-- or what ever it is.

Interesting. I don't have a garage so it didn't occur to me. Thanks.

I don't believe that AAA or any other road service provider will arrive with a tire -- should your problem require it.

Before I bought a C-max I had to live with the millage my old car was capable of. Now I can influence the millage I get by the way I drive and have the car's technology to help me. I find that I am trying to get the best millage I can. Should this be required is another question. I think people who care about the millage issue will gravitate to fuel efficient cars like the C-Max. Others will buy cars for whatever reason that motivates them.

What's your favorite My View and why?

I'm just using Empower now as I become more comfortable with all the bells & whistles. Expect to go through the lot. Good question and will watch what others are doing. -
Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI) - Any Experiences?
Tom replied to plus 3 golfer's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
I bought Ford's extended warranty because I was concerned about the technology associated with hybrids and I wanted as much piece of mind as I could get -- so felt it was worth it to me. -
Virginia is now taxing Hybrid car owners an additional tax
Tom replied to C-Maxgo's topic in General Discussion
I assume people who drive EVs, etc. also want their roads in good repair. We pay taxes for road repairs. -
Saw two more in Bethesda Wednesday -- a red and an ice storm (light blue).
