  1. yes very good point i keep my jumper under my seat
  2. Thanks i was thinking of checking around to see if other ford dealers in the area had different pricing. Been checking out some you tube on changing it myself and will check in on that free trial version of ForScan. I think i'll be replacing the battery soon anyway one way or another. I do carry a jumper with me since everyone was has having issues just in case. thanks again i let you know how it turns out.
  3. I took my 2013 C-Max we have 43000 miles on her for oil change and got the works done at the ford dealer here where i live. i ask them to make sure to check the 12 volt battery since it's a 2013 build date 03/18/2013, so the battery being just over 6 years old. The C-max has a max battery with 100 months so theoretically it could have another 27 months of life in it. Now we never had any issues with the no start that a lot of people had with the 2013 model so I have been reluctant to change out the battery. So OK they said the battery failed the load test and that it was in caution range said battery voltage was 12.4 and that the crank amps was only at 214cca not the 390cca it's suppose to be. they said it was up to me if i wanted to have them change it out but said since it's still working ok might want to wait. they gave me price of 130.00 for new battery and 107.00 for instillation. Iv'e thought about replacing it myself i removed the cover in the rear seems straight forward but I've read here that could be a issue with resetting the battery for charging and not sure if it would be worth saving the extra 107.00 dollars doing it myself. One other thing the advisor at the ford dealer said the mechanic could finger out where the battery even was had to look it up i guess. so makes me a little skittish having them replace it. Any thoughts on this will be appreciated thanks John
  4. This just happened yesterday we were driving had a cd in all was fine my wife got a call on her phone which was connected through Bluetooth. I know when a call comes in the music will go down and when it rings through. when she accepted the call we couldn't hear anything it said the call was connected, they hung up and tried again answered still not hearing anything. So checking a few things the voice controls did nothing and we tried to change to fm station still no sound. anyway my wife she decides to disconnect her phone from Bluetooth so she could receive the call bam everything started working. Not sure it was directly related to the bluetooth or what the hiccup was but hope it doesn't happen again.
  5. Congrats on your new C-Max welcome to the forum
  6. Sorry to hear about your accident glad no serious injury's enjoy your new C-Max.
  7. I would say that where you had your oil changed did not reset it. It should be ok to reset. And having only 3000 miles is way to soon to do a oil change I do mine at 10,000 miles the oil still looks good at the oil change. What oil did you use I believe most on here use full synthetic.
  8. Welcome to the C-Max forum, you will find out a lot of things from the people here some have done extensive testing from how to get best miles to fixing just about every thing on your C-Max. And things you had no clue was even on the C-Max. Enjoy
  9. Glad to see ford is going to keep the plant open That will be good for Michigan we don't need any more empty plants still it's sad that the C-Max not being built here it's a great car hope by moving it south of the boarder the quality does not suffer. Was surprised to see them talking about bring the ranger back I thought it was also a low profit vehicle and that was why they stopped selling them in the states and where building them in India. I've owned two Rangers over the years always like them better then the full size trucks.
  10. There were some people when I told them we bought the C-Max hybrid they would say well what about the battery replacement. I told them why worry about it it's suppose to last life of car I think I read some where 8 years. But they would still say well then what will you do because of the cost, if the car other wise is in good shape which I believe it will be we will replace it. I think now the battery's are like 3200.00 by the end of life for our battery they will be available much cheaper I would think. In any case we plan on keeping our C-Max for a long time.
  11. On our 2013 SE you can barely hear it. When we had the rental Which was a 2015 Ford focus it was so loud we thought about not using it and using the old arm signals instead. So the turn signals maybe very on the cars. In some of our other cars the turn signal didn't always shut off my hearing not as good as it once was but my wife is there to make sure it's off with a comment our a punch in the arm. Lol
  12. And we can almost C-Max at the end of the long tunnel. I did like that saying just saying. Well we got our C-Max back today it was like seeing and old friend. What a relief 52 days crazy, but all is good drove home Got 48.7mpg got to love this car. The service advisor I been working with said that they didn't do a brake job but they resurfaced the rotors and scraped the pads because of it setting so long the rotors were rusted up pretty good and when they test drove it they were getting a lot of pulsing in the brakes. one thing we lost our life time summery it went back to zero. wish I had made note of it so I would know what the EV and Regen were, Only know we had 26332 miles and life time mpg was 40.9 of course they were able to set the odometer correctly. So for a cluster $583.00 and the rental 52 days at $30 per day maybe they get a weekly discount amount $1560.00 = 2143 plus labor taxes etc. Ford really should make there parts more available to there customers it would go along way in promoting Ford as a people company. But we've own several different brands of cars but I have to say I will stay a Ford person. I wish to thank Megan ( Ford Service) with putting me in touch with Dan from CSM and especially everyone on this forum. I would have loved to known about this forum when we first bought our C-Max it is very informative and I think I have learned a lot about our car that I did not know and hoping to learn a lot more Thank you all John
  13. Update 7 weeks, So we get good and some bad news ok Monday 17th service dept. called said my cluster was taken off back order and would be in Thursday. Tuesday the 18th service dept. called they needed our second key to reprogram, the cluster it came in on Tuesday morning truck. So drove up to the dealer which is 45 miles away on Tuesday . Should have it on Wednesday afternoon they called Wednesday afternoon they've been unable to program the keys so car won't start. They were in contact with ford engineer possible software issue will call tomorrow Thursday (today). They called this morning they were finally able to get the programing done today after 3rd attempt but the wrench light is on and there no faults coming up. He said plan on 3:00 today for pickup in the meantime they decided to do my brakes for no cost not sure when they would normally be done we've got 26332 miles on the car but hey free brake job. They called at 3:00 not able to clear the wrench on the panel still no faults, working with there hotline to the engineers they will try for tomorrow but won't promise. And we can almost C-Max at the end of the long tunnel. Making progress it seems. The CSM handling this called today says he will keep the case open till we get the car back in our hands and satisfied. will let you know when we get her back.
