  1. I konw this is an old thread, but just got my used 2013 Cmax and live in WNY and it will be parked outside. winter gets a bit chilly. We had one morning last winter of -22 below !! I was looking at the wolverine engine block heaters, anyone have any luck with them? if so, what size? thinking maybe the higher wattage one (250watt) if it will fit on the oil pan, otherwise will go with the smaller one, haven't looked to see how much room is down there to mount them. thanks all!!

    Nice MPG

    From the album: 2013 Cmax

Quick trip to the store and back. All EV. :) Don't think I can do any better MPG!
  3. Thx. i'm trying! we have a couple longer trips scheduled, so hopefully i can hit the 600 mile mark.! :) My work everyday is a 15 mile drive. I can usually do about 4-5 miles on EV and 10-11 on ICE. 90% hiway at 65mph.
  4. From the album: 2013 Cmax

Fill up for last leg to Philly. Filled up before the NY border on the way back, 605 Miles to empty! getting better all the time. Avg on gauge is 41.2 :)
  5. My last fill-up stated 605 miles to empty. it's been slowly improving since I got it a few weeks ago. I haven't let it go far enough to empty to see the 500-600+ yet on the trip odometer, but I know I will soon. :) I'm loving the mileage so far. Last fill up it avg. around 45mpg+ Just took a trip to Philly and back via Bethlehem, PA. A lot nice long hills to charge and coast. :)
  6. Living here in WNY, we def. have winters and salt. I have the black ones with the stone interior. they look good. I agree about not going up far enough on the left drivers side or on the pass. side rear should go under the seat lip a bit farther.

    Air filter

    From the album: 2013 Cmax

Air Filter check and replacement. Removing the top of the ICE cover, have to unhook a couple hoses and 2 bolts. Very clean at 21K miles, not sure if original or not.
  8. From the album: 2013 Cmax

Replaced cabin air filter, 21K miles, who knows if it was ever replaced. lol.

    Stripes

    From the album: 2013 Cmax

Just playing with my vinyl cutter and coming up with some stripes to make it different and a little sporty.
  10. Since only purchasing the car 2 weeks ago, it had 3/4 of tank, finally did a fill up of 12.69 gallons, when the gauge read 18 miles to empty. They had not reset the trip previously, so I;m not sure the exactly mileage yet. But the AVG has been increasing slightly. the Avg. on the gauge was around 37mpg when i first got it. Everything was reset when they did all the updates at the dealership. It's avg. right now 39.4mpg and has been slowly increasing with mixed hiway/city driving. probably 80% hiway/20% city. Next tank will know much better, I know when I filled it up, it came back and said 525 miles to empty on the trip. So, if I figured 525 to empty / 12.69 gallons it took to fill it up, that comes out to approx. 41.4mpg. Mine has learned my home and work with the EV+ about 1/8-1/4 mile from the destination.
  11. Just checked my air filter. YES, what a pain in the butt to check/change. removing that whole plastic top intake on the ICE The dealer must have put a new one in before I picked it up for their multipoint inspection. it looked very clean for 20K miles.
  12. Since i bought the Cmax used, and the problems they had previously with the batteries, the dealer put a brand new battery in, made sure all the updates were done in the software for the TSB's etc.... hopefully won't have a problem. I run battery tenders on my F150 and mustangs in the garage, Original batteries in the 2003 Mustang and 2004 F150.!! since I don't drive them much, and the Cmax is the daily commuter now.
  13. I believe there is a setting in the myview or on the display on selecting the Tire Mobility Kit service interval. 1,2,3 years, probably so the fluid fix stuff doesn't go bad to get it replaced. Not sure how long the stuff lasts if you don't use it. The dealer has to replace the canister if you use it to fix your tires, or after so many years? you may have to replace the TPMS sensor in the tire too once you use the fix it foam. As he stated, get a tire repair kit with plugs, etc....just in case.
  14. Congrats!! I never heard of them either until about 2 weeks ago or so, i was searching online at the local Ford Dealer for something to replace my Scion Xb, of course wanted a Focus ST or RS, but 25-35K+ and not as big as the Xb wasnt' gonna happen. LOL I saw this Cmax online and went down to check it out, it was sold, but still there. I talked to the guy and checked it out, didn't even drive it, but asked about getting another one, off lease return one, and they found mine (2013 with 20K miles) and shipped it in. Love it!!! had it just 10 days and having fun with it!! and learned so much on this forum about all the features and how to get the most MPG from it. :)
  15. just checked mine, since i just bought the car this past week used with 20K, YEP, it's needs changed. it was pretty dark looking when I pulled it our a little from the holder. I found one on Ebay for $15 including shipping. RockAuto has the Ford/Motorcraft for around $12. not sure on shipping.
  16. Just did my rear windows and back window with some good 3M I think 15% tint, about factory tint on most rear side windows, like my wifes Escape. Looks darker than it is. turned out good.

    SIDE TINT

    Tinted Back windows

    From the album: 2013 Cmax

Did the rear windows and back hatch. it's only a light tint, pretty much like factory on many vehicles, but looks good.

    Seriously, WELCOME!!

WOOT! Just picked up my 2013 White Cmax SEL tonight. drove it 15 miles home and average 41.9 already! kicked in to eco mode cruising, I'm liking it already. :) just trying to learn to drive it (not like a race or my mustang LOL). BRAKES are wicked!
  21. Could be the pads are slightly glazed or a pad is not seated correctly. Hopefully not dragging, like you said, a stuck caliper, and it's down to the metal wear indicator. Maybe caught a rock or something in the caliper. sometimes hard to determine without taking them apart sometimes. i usually sand the pads down and bevel the leading edge a bit before I put new ones on so they don't squeak. some pads come that way, good luck.

    Seriously, WELCOME!!

Thanks fbov (Frank) for the info and link! Def. Be a learning curve at first, but reading all i can so I understand the car and how it works/learns. I did see pjones mods. Actually not too hilly from the house and getting on the hiway (I-86). a few gradual hills. I'll prolly get some steel wheels and snows for the winter. If it's bad enough, We still the Escape or my F150. :)

    Seriously, WELCOME!!

HI All. Getting a 2013 White SEL in about week. 20K miles with the 301A package. Any tips for winter driving, snow tires? engine heater? it will sit outside, and it does get really cold here in WNY. I do have a good DelTran battery tender/charger i use for my other vehicles when not in use (2003 mustang and 2004 F150) BOTH with original batteries! Driving about 30-40 miles a day, this should save some gas. Thanks all! Cant' wait.
