  1. That’s what you need to do. It’s great with the exception that you have to use a usb cable to link into CarPlay. Version sync4 will have wireless CarPlay.
  2. The software is upgraded wirelessly. You set up the network to attach to and it upgrades in the middle of the night. About as easy as it could be.
  3. You go in through the wheel well to replace. When I bought my C-Max both fog lamps were damaged so I replaced them. It wasn’t to difficult.
  4. You have to choose a primary unit. You can have two phones hooked up at the same time but only one will command the CarPlay.
  5. I added the Sync3 system to my 2013 C-Max. It is so much faster than the old system. Since it can have the vin changed in the upgrade I figured that I can put into the next C-Max. The CarPlay and nav are faster than older units I’ve had. It just isn’t cheap but for me it is worth it.
  6. I had some weird nav glitches a while ago. I removed the gps module and used some contact cleaner on the module and the harness. All has been good since. Something to look at when electronic glitches show up.
  7. Bill-N, your right about losing altitude in the 3.8 upgrade. I really need to have access to the altitude data.
  8. I would honestly doubt that the heat is effecting your audio system. I live in Phoenix and the car gets really hot, maybe 180 degrees. If it's 120 outside it has to be 60 degrees hotter in the car. When I was having issues in the audio and gps systems, I unhooked all the connectors I could get to and use contact cleaner on them. Took care of all of my problems. To find where the locations are I bought a c-max manual on eBay. It works on pc's only ( I'm a Mac guy) and I paid about $10.00 for it.
  9. My excitement was short lived. 24 hours later my radio display information is frozen. Sorry folks. I guess it's time for the dealer and reprogram the ACM.
  10. Well I recently found that my frequency display wasn't changing when changing stations. This was frozen on both FM and AM. I tried doing a master reset. This didn't work. I saw someone posted that they tried taking the fuse out but that didn't work. I got my system to correct itself by removing Fuse #73, 79 and 85 in the passenger footwell. After having the fuses out for an hour I started the car, turned it off, opened the door and closed it. I did this twice. The MFT display along with the right dash display didn't show anything. I reinstalled the fuses and stared the car. The frozen radio was working correctly along with the right dash display. The only issue I have is I lost my 911 Assist. I can always go to the dealer and get this reinstalled. For those having a frozen radio/display, give this a try. It worked for me.
  11. Did anyone have any comments about their lexan covers?
  12. There is a way to get nav into the mytouch. My car didn't come with nav but I added it through a company called oemautopartsco .com. It's not as expensive as the factory price. When I ordered the system they asked for the VIN and it came two days later. Unbolt the touch screen and two screws to undo the APIM and switch it out. Takes less than 10 minutes. The GPSantenna was already installed so it was plug and play.
