Is this the $550/$325? -
Are dealers compensated by Ford for warranty work?

I totally agree. -
I'm still looking forward to my first C-Max drive to Asheville and back. Two weeks ago we drove from Charlottesville VA to Parkersburg WV. This was 5+ hours of uos and downs with minimal interstate over the Skyline Drive and through two national forests. We used grade assist on most of the 6% downhill grades. Once the battery was full, the vacuum cleaning/sewing machine noise was interesting.

2014 C-max will have new body panels, oil, etc

Although it has been unusually rainy, cloudy and cool here this summer I would still love to have a solar powered ventilator (as is available as an option on the Prius) that helps keep the parked in the sun car cooler - no superheated air in the passenger compartment or AC ducts. -
I found C-Max sales data for Sept - Dec 2012 and Jan - July 2013 at http://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2012/10/ford-cmax-sales-figures.html In the US, 2012 sales were 13,309 and so far in 2013 sales have been 23,040 which totals 36,349. At $550 per vehicle that's $19,991950. Not sure if this applies to our friends north of the border. Sales in Canada were 155 in 2012 on 870 to-date in 2013 which totals 1,025. At US$550 per vehicle that would be another US$563,750. I wonder how the $550 will play out for 2013 cars in the process of being purchased and for deals made to buy new 2013's after today's announcement.

I had three updates done this week - the MFT/Sync 3.5.1, the one-kick liftgate and the PCM. I notice the clock was about 5 minutes slow. I went into clock settings and pushed sync w GPS. The clock then changed to one hour slow (i.e., didn't account for daylight savings time). I advanced the clock one hour to get the correct time. I tried to sync the clock w GPS the next day and again it was one hour slow. I may be confused, but I thought there was a daylight savings time on/off button before I got the updates. I can't find a daylight savings time on/off button now. Am I missing something?

I had the PCM update done today. After dinner I went for a brief highway drive to test the PCM update. I got a full charge on the battery going up a hill on I-40. I got off and headed back the other way. I set eco cruise at about 75mph and then started backing off about 2mph at a time. I saw the switch to ev at about 65mph and then was able to stay in ev for about 4 clicks up to 69-70mph. I need to read this thread and the other PCM update related threads some more to see what others have experienced and then go for a longer highway drive. I'm not sure yet if I am getting/seeing the full effect with regard to staying in ev at higher speeds.

When I went to pick up our car this afternoon I thought I would be coming home with only the daily double but I wound up coming home with the trifecta. (I failed to mention in my earlier message that I grew up in Elmont NY home of Belmont Park and the Belmont Stakes, the third leg of horse racing's triple crown.) At 5pm my service advisor called to say that they had done the liftgate update and the PCM update but they could not do the MFT/nav update because they were out of new nav cards. I went to pick up the car and left expecting to return on Monday when they had more nav card. Less than a block away I noticed "insert new SD card" on the big screen. I looked in the console and the card slot was empty. I went back to the shop and asked for my old nav card so we would have nav over the weekend. After a few minutes my service advisor came back out with the technicain. The tech asked for my key fob. He got in the car and after pushing a few buttons inserted a SD card. Then they said I was all set with the MFT/nav update. I thought they had not done anything on this since they did not have the new nav card. Turned out the software update had been done in anticipation of having a new nav card this afternoon. Once the software had been updated the old nav card would no longer work. What the tech did was put his bench nav card (that he uses for testing and troubleshooting) in my car. I tested the new MFT and nav on my way home. All seems in order including the new powersplit screen. When I got home I tried the liftgate. On the first try it opened with just one kick.

Yes, seriously because a generic locking gas cap won't work on the C-Max and it appeared you had found one that you either knew or thought would work. Anyway I googled away and found http://accessories.ford.com/locking-fuel-plug.html The same search also took me a thread titled "Locking Gas Cap?" started in Nov 2012. I had not seen this thread before. The link to http://accessories.ford.com/locking-fuel-plug.html is cited there by rfruth and in reply RedLdr1 said, "Unfortunately those locking caps / plugs do not fit the C-Max. I have one sitting on a shelf in my garage I had used on my 2010 Flex that I thought I could reuse. The C-Max has a really weird filler and neck, that is why Ford supplied a funnel in case you ever need to add fuel from a gas can...." Too bad Ford didn't just make an inside release the only way to open the gas door on the hybrid models.

I made an appt today to bring our C-Max in later this week for the MFT and liftgate (one kick) upates. I asked about the PCM upate and was told they would not have the software until August 1. Some dealers have it now and some don't? I asked about the headliner and ws told they would order the parts.

Details? What is it, how much and where can they be purchased?

Haven't tried it yet. I need to see if I still have one of the aftermarket solar vent fans. Also, in order for this to work the fan needs to pull air through the vehicle's ventilation system. In older cars I used the solar fan in (e.g., 1983 Tercel or 1987 Camry wagon) this meant having the system set on fresh air (not on recirc). I recall reading something about the ventilation system in the C-Max closing the vents when the car is turned off. I thought this was odd when I read it. I just searched through the C-Max owners manual and could find anything about this.

I would love to have a built in solar powered ventilator fan for hot summer parking. I have used aftermarket in-the-window solar vent fans in several cars. In cars with rear windows with straight sides they work great. When the car is parked, the interior temp never goes above the ambient temp and the air ducts don't get filled with superheated air.
