Is there a way to see how many miles are on the Oil Life Monitoring system since it was reset at the last oil change? Or miles until the next oil change? Maybe in engineering test mode? I am looking for a way to check that the counter has been when I have my oil changed - other than resetting it myself to make sure. Page 281 of the manual explains how to reset the Oil Life Monitoring System after an oil change.

Or an option to display some of this info on the right screen in place of the deficiency leaves.

Spare Tire Solution for C-Max Hybrid.
DaveofDurham replied to Roger Eastman's topic in Wheels & Tires
Was this plug kit one you could use without removing the tire from the rim? Here is a link to an article on tire repair which says that's not a good way to go. http://www.aroundhawaii.com/lifestyle/art_and_leisure/2011-02-repairing-todays-tires-beware-of-tire-plugs.html -
I think I should get extra credit because with my fill-up a little past the 500 mile mark I drove the last 100 miles with an extra 60 pounds of fuel mass.
-
I wasn't interest in watching my miles to empty go down to zero or below, so I reset my trip odometer #1 at a fill-up, did not reset it at the next fill up and checked how many gallons I had used when trip odometer #1 reached 600 miles. 13.39 gallons for 614 miles (346.5 EV miles) at 45.8mpg If we can avoid another day with 35 degree temp and sleet, I know we can do better.

Thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten about this option of MyView. I will test it out on Tuesday or Wednesday when we are supposed to have high temps in the 80's.

Something that a CMax will never, ever do....

What would the stopping distance be if that speedster had regen braking and you brought it from top speed to a stop with a 100% braking score? -
What is the push button on the OBD panel

How did you open the panel? What is the cut out/depression for right under where OBD is embossed on the panel? -
What is the push button on the OBD panel
DaveofDurham replied to spinner's topic in General Discussion
I don't see a button on this panel on my car. Right underneath where OBD is embossed into the panel there is a cut out/depressed area. I thought there was a port here, but when I took a closer look I could not see a port. I don't know why this panel is marked or what the cut out/depressed area is for. Also, I recall seeing photos of scan gauges being hooked up in some other threads. I don't think the connection was anywhere near this panel, but I don't remember where the connection was. -

On board diagnostics. I think there is a port to plug in a cable from the OBD device (computer) on the panel spinner is asking about. -

Ejector seat? I noticed the OBD panel for the first time today while I was looking for the hood release. I didn't notice a button. I will take a look next time I go out. -

We moved the plate from our 2000 Honda Insight to our C-Max. The plate is ULEV for ultra-low emissions vehicle. Still appropriate for the C-Max which is classified as ULEV II as shown in the sticker above. -

I have not done a lifetime reset. When we got our car it had something like 130 miles @ 33mpg. We now have 5,500 miles on the car with a lifetime mpg of 40.5, so the initial 130 initial miles @ 33 mpg is reducing the lifetime mpg by 0.2 mpg, about 0.5%.
-
The avg mpg appears on several of the left display screens. You can reset avg mpg by pressing and holding OK on any of the screens on which it appears, except for My View. I have also been using trip odo 2 as a separate lifetime counter. I have 5000+ miles on my car so I know that the trip odo goes at least to 9,999. Some of the other statistics that appear on the trip odo only go up to 999 and then they restart from zero.
-
If you have never reset your "average mpg" number then it is telling your your lifetime mpg even if you have reset your "lifetime mpg" (the one that appears after the trip statistics appear when you turn your car off). Once you reset your "average mpg" then it will tell you your average mpg since the last reset. You can use this to get your mpg after a fill up or your mpg on a segment of a trip or your mpg on a trip, but all it tells yo is the mpg - no other info like you get on the trip odometers.

We had our first 80+ degree day today so I was thinking about (but didn't use) the AC. I am wondering about what changes when I turn the temp control up and down when the AC is running. For example, if I turn the AC on and turn the temp setting all the way down I think the interior will get really cold. If I get too cold and turn the temp setting up to say 72 degrees does that (a) result in the AC compressor working less hard/less often (because I am asking for less cooling) and using less energy, or (b) the AC compressor keeps working just as hard and just as often at 72 degrees as when the temp was turned all the way down and the passenger cabin temp is adjusted upward by the heater working at the same time the AC is working. My previous car was a 2000 Honda Insight and after years of thinking it worked like (a), I had someone tell me it worked like (b) and that I should always select the lowest temp setting when I was running the AC and just turn the AC off for a few minutes when I got too cold. I have no idea if what I was told was correct. If the C-Max works like (b) then when the AC was on and the temp was set at 72 there would be heat being pulled out of the coolant and the engine would be running cooler and we might be talking about putting on grill covers in July and August.

Star Trek, Twilight Zone, The Simpsons (e.g, episodes comparing Springfield and Shelbyville), and The Honeymooners and the Flintstones. I have briefly looked at the other forum a few times. I looked again today and quickly found a message that refers to one of the popular threads on this forum: Posted 14 March 2013 - 11:53 AM Check out this link: http://fordcmaxhybri...mpg-sweet-spot/ This was posted by Robert Lane who I have seen on this forum in the thread about the eagerly anticipated Michigan summer gathering. -
I can't argue with your suggestion. Resistance would be futile. Ω Ω Ω Ω

O-o-o-mmmmmmmmmmm indeed! We can't say Z-o-o-o-mmmmmmmmmmm, Z-o-o-o-mmmmmmmmmmm, Z-o-o-o-mmmmmmmmmmm That's for another brand of car which was or maybe still is part owned by Ford.

4o degrees and sleet yesterday - 80 degrees forecast for next week. Just ordered and Intro-Tech sunshade. Thanks for the great tip.
