UPDATE: car is back home. They replaced the canister purge valve. I really enjoy the C-Max I hope it's smooth sailing from here on.

My story is very similar to many of you. Check engine light came on last Monday. Took it to dealership, they thought Wednesday. Got a call Friday part was back ordered and never showed up. Today they say because the car is so new parts are difficult to locate. Keep it as long as you need it until it's fixed. I bought the car in November 2012, the SEL,2013 version. However taking it to a different dealership than where I purchased it from. Original dealership service dept is disorganized, (been there once already and was without car for 2 days due to the SYNC system). Where the C-Max is now...service dept is top shelf.

My engine light came on while driving home Monday. I took it to a dealership other than where I purchased it. The reason, The orginal place I purchased the vehicle has a disorganized service dept, calls are not returned etc... lousy service. I receive a call from the new guys...they are having trouble finding the part. Something about a evaporation valve. The vehicle has about 2450 on it and averaging about 32mpg. Anyone else experience engine light coming on?

I live in NH. I have had my 2013 C-Max since November 27, 2012, Curent milage is about 2100. I traded in a 2008 Prius (avg 44 MPG) regardless of the weather. I bought theC-Max because of the style, comforts entertainment/navigation etc... more options then the Prius. Anyway, I am averaging 32 MPG. Yestertday I was stopped at a stop light and the MPG indicator was going in reverse. I have taken it to the dealer and they are clueless. How much longer do I have to wait to get at least 43 MPG? Was FORD a bit premature in their estimates. Many people talk high 30's and into the 40's for MPG. HOW do you do it? What is your secret? I'm about ready to file a suit or trade this C-max in!!!
